We looked intensively at care providers. We decided on Home Instead and can honestly say it delivered everything we required. Our mum was quite an handful at times but the carers were patient beyond belief and so caring.

My parents had a live in carer from Home Instead since February 2024. They were very lucky to have the same lovely lady as the main carer for this whole period. They also had a regular cover carer for when their main carer was on leave. Together these two wonderful ladies looked after my mother (who needed personal care as well as general household support) and were there in the last weeks of her life as she was on peaceful palliative care at home. The whole team at Home Instead, one member of staff in particular who was our client liaison for most of the 18 months, were a great support. When Mum was put on the end of life pathway they immediately stepped up and provided round the clock support for us and for the regular carer which made my Mum's end so calm and exactly as she, and the family, would have wished. I would completely recommend Home Instead.

We engaged with Home Instead after the pandemic, when I'd been caring for my dad myself for a long time, so it was hard to start sharing responsibility. The team made it a lot easier by showing genuine concern and affection for my dad, and were able to offer their expertise and guidance for the days I continued to care for him. They would alert me if they had concerns about him or raise with the district nurses. They made him laugh and treated him with kindness.

We have now be having care provide to my elderly mother (who has vascular dementia) for some months. This needs people with an understanding of the challenges of this progresive disease. The person can easily reject help and be quite dismisive as they believe they can cope and deal with everthing, which is not the case. The ability of a company to provide reliable, punctual, flexable and most importantly the same staff on a regular basis is critical. With the carer's permission photos with names were provided so Mum would recognise people and put a name to the face - brilliant. Short notice changes and ad-hoc visits have been provided - flexibility is key. Mum's comment "they look after me so well, they are friends" says it all. I work part time for a family in Eltham and have discussed care for parents, they without prompting said how good Home Instead have been. The ability to provide later time visits have been so useful.
Highly recomended.

Receiving dementia care from an experienced team that specialises in dementia care can make a huge difference to the person's quality of life. At Home Instead we have many years of experience of supporting people living with dementia and a particular interest in it. Some of our office team have many years of professional and personal experience of dementia care which enables them to create really practical and effective care plans that enable clients to maintain as much independence as possible while also relieving the pressure families often feel. It's always great to hear that the approaches and strategies we adopt are not only effective but also flexible and a welcome addition to your mum's life.
