Right at Home CW staff went above and beyond for their charity partner, Dementia Adventure, by walking across hot coals and raising an amazing £2,500.

Twenty-one brave Carers from our annual family day and barbecue took part in the firewalk, a challenge delivered by Blaze, a company that specialises in charity firewalk events. Before walking over the hot coals, the team had an hour-long training session with a professional firewalk instructor. The training helped the staff to build confidence and focus on their mental attitude for the challenge.

Liz Young, Head of Marketing and Recruitment at Right at Home GF, was one of the participants. She admitted to feeling nervous before the firewalk. "The training was excellent at getting us into the right frame of mind," she said. "It was an incredible challenge in a safe environment. It was so exhilarating that we all did it twice!"

The event brought together staff from different offices, including Alton, Bordon, Twickenham, Richmond, Farnham, and Guildford. They all walked barefoot over a bed of hot, burnt-down soft wood.

In addition to being an unforgettable team-building experience, the event was a powerful fundraiser. We are already thinking about how to make next year's event even more exciting.

Dementia Adventure is a national charity that provides supported holidays and nature-based activities for people living with dementia and their carers. Right at Home UK chose Dementia Adventure as its three-year national charity partner, showing a shared commitment to improving the quality of life for people with dementia and their families.
