Right at Home delivers high quality home care to elderly and disabled adults in order to help them remain independent in their own homes, and provide peace of mind for their families - whether it be just a little help that's needed around the house, some companionship, a meal to be prepared, or perhaps help with bathing or dressing.

Right at Home carefully select CareGivers for their compassion and empathy, taking on people with the most caring nature and then training them to the highest standards. Continuity of care is extremely important through unrushed, minimum one hour visits built around a client’s individual needs. CareGivers are introduced to each client, and meaningful and lasting relationships are as important as performing the necessary tasks.

Right at Home have been supporting my stepfather since the start of December. The carers have all been fantastic, very kind and respectful and nothing is too much trouble. They help him with all aspects of his daily care, including knowing when to sit and listen and even joining in with his passion
of reading poetry! They also support him in attending appointments and managing his calendar.
The manager has been a constant source of support as I navigate my stepfather's Dementia journey and has been on hand to offer advice and expertise. My stepfather speaks very highly of Right at Home and looks forward to his carers visiting each day. They are helping to ensure he can stay in his own home for as long as possible and this gives me peace of mind, knowing he is so well looked after. I would recommend Right at Home to anyone needing this service, I have been very lucky to find such a supportive service for my stepfather.
Reply from Liz Young, Business Development Manager at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you so much for such a kind review, I am so happy to pass these words to the manager and her team of caregivers. Enabling people to remain at home and also returning peace of mind to families and loved ones is our main objective and if we can listen to poetry too then all the better! Thank you once again.

Right at Home was recommended to us by close friends, and we are so grateful to them for the recommendation. From the start the administration was professional and efficient, and the staff who looked after our 95-year-old mother were, without exception, all kind, efficient, and hugely considerate. We
had to go from a daily visit, right up to full-time care in the space of several months, and Right at Home was unfailingly adaptive and flexible. Could not speak more highly of our experience with this excellent care company.
Reply from Liz Young, Business Development Manager at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you so much for this wonderful review. Our Registered Manager and her team always aim to exceed expectations when providing homecare services and we were so pleased to be able to support your family on your homecare journey.

From start to finish we are very pleased with the service. From the first phone enquiry the staff was very helpful and informative. My husband was very pleased with the carer, she always checked he was ok and did over and above what we requested and was good with our pets too.
Reply from Liz Young, Business Development Manager at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you so much for such a lovely review! We really do pride ourselves on going the extra mile to provide care and support that exceeds expectations.

Right at Home in Camberley provided first-class, effective, efficient, and most importantly compassionate care to my father-in-law during the last months of his life. The Registered Manager was a fabulous support and arranged last-minute care during the last days of his life quickly and without any
fuss. My father-in-law's regular carer built up a great relationship with him and my mother-in-law in a short space of time and her care and practical support were invaluable.
There are not enough words to express my gratitude for the professionalism of all the staff at Right at Home. I had complete trust in my requests and queries being acted upon during a very difficult and stressful time. Great leadership and management. Thank you.
Reply from Liz Young, Business Development Manager at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you so much for this wonderful review, I will be happy to share this with the Camberley team. We pride ourselves on building relationships with all of our clients and their families, working to our company values of Trust, Respect, Quality, and Compassion. Thank you once again.

Right at Home came to help us with my father who lived with us. He had dementia and was 95 years old. The care and help all the ladies gave was invaluable. They worked with us to provide the best care for his last year. We are so grateful for all Right at Home did and would recommend their services
wholeheartedly.
Reply from Bob Thornton, Owner and Managing Director at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you for your kind words. The Carers that visited your dad all loved his daily call, he was a real gentleman to the end, with a cheeky smile. Thank you for choosing Right at Home to help you and the family during his last year with you. I will let all the team know of your review which will also raise a smile in his memory.

Right at Home have taken care of both my parents for over a year now. We found them via a recommendation from a neighbour and employed them to help when caring for my mother became too much for my father alone.
I honestly can’t praise them all highly enough, every carer really does care and has gone
above the call of duty to help in so many extra ways from preparing shopping lists, taking items to hospital when either parent had a stay, collecting prescriptions or just being there and lending a ear.
It has been so reassuring they are properly cared for as I live quite a distance away.
I will miss my angels as I know my parents will as they now need to move to a home.
Thanks for everything.
Reply from Bob Thornton, Owner and Managing Director at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you for your wonderful review which I will pass on to the team. It was a real pleasure to support both your parents to remain at home as long as possible. They will be sadly missed by the Carers and the office staff. We hope they settle in soon to their new home.

I have found the manager and her team just amazing, they have been so good at fitting in with my father’s needs and have always been so accommodating and understanding. The ladies, as my dad affectionately calls them, are all incredibly kind and helpful, they treat my father and my family with great
respect and friendliness! They have always alerted me on when medications need to be requested, make shopping lists for me when I can’t, have arranged care to assist my dad with bathing and his personal hygiene and home cleaning (the house is cleaner now than it has been for a very long time). He enjoys all his meals made and prepared, along with a generous amount of ice cream at his request! They walk with Dad as far as he can when he is able and are genuinely very kind to him. I couldn’t have wanted more from a team that does such an important job and trusting role for me and my father! Thank you all.
Reply from Bob Thornton, Managing Director at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you very much for your kind review. At Right at Home, encouraging our clients to do as much as they can for themselves, but with a little extra support from us, is fundamental to our care. I know our ‘ladies’ who support your dad all enjoy his calls and are always looking for ways to make life just that little bit easier. I will pass on your appreciation and know they will be delighted to hear your comments.

I found Right at Home at a time when my dad, age 92 required consistent, reliable, professional and kind additional support. I found gold. They met all of Dad's needs. Not only did they support him but they supported me, his daughter and his carer at a time when I needed it. They bent over backwards
to accommodate all our requirements. I cannot praise them enough. My dad sadly passed away this January (2023). His carer and the Right at Home manager went above and beyond on that very traumatic and sad day. Like I said, I found absolute gold in Right at Home. Thank you to all of them.

I cannot rate anything less than outstanding to all the workers within this organisation. The care, thought and overall dedication they have to their work is absolutely perfect! They go above and beyond your expectations on how they take care of your loved ones.
They communicate regularly to reassure
us on all aspects of their care! They deserve more than a medal and I cannot thank them all enough! Highly recommended and worth paying for care that goes above any other services when it comes to caring. We have decided to continue using them, due to the highest level of care and support . Thank you all!

Right at Home provided excellent care to my mum, who was sadly an end-of-life cancer patient with deteriorating mobility and care requirements. We had several visits daily, as well as a live-in carer, and their competence, professionalism and compassion were absolutely outstanding. They gave my mother
dignity and compassion in her last months of life, and I cannot thank you all enough for making an awful time more bearable for all the family. I have already recommended Right at Home to any friends/family with care needs.

I cannot praise the carers and admin of this company highly enough. Throughout the last, long and difficult eighteen months, they have looked after my parents to a standard we could only have wished for, often going beyond what was required. All the staff have been flexible and always very caring and
compassionate, not to mention very patient. We will always be grateful for what they have done for us.
Reply from Bob Thornton, Owner and Managing Director at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you so much for your kind words. We started using Right at Home for some holiday cover for my elderly parents whilst I was away for several weeks. We found the care very reliable and helpful and so have now continued with this for the longer term.
The carers have been excellent and have been happily accepted by my parents. The office
team has always responded promptly to any adjustments I have requested. I would certainly recommend their services.
Reply from Bob Thornton, Managing Director at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Many thanks for your positive review. It is wonderful to hear such good feedback about our carers, I will be sure to pass this on to our team! Thank you for taking the time to write this.

The Right at Home team have been looking after my mum for a number of years, increasing daily hours as her needs and health dictated. I can't find fault - the carers were excellent and genuinely cared and the office team were timely in their communication. I was able to call, no matter what the time,
and I'll be forever grateful for their support. Thank you.

Don’t hesitate to use Right at Home to help care for your loved one.
They have been coming in to help my elderly mother for the past four months and I can’t fault them at all.
Communication with the office is good and any requests for different aspects of care have always been acted upon promptly
and efficiently.
Everyone I have dealt with has been very down to earth, no patronising talking down to the person receiving the care (which is rare in my experience!).
My mother enjoys their visits and they have enabled her to stay in her home for longer than would otherwise be possible.
Reply from Bob Thornton, Owner and Managing Director at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you for your kind words and review. We were fortunate and pleased to have the same carer during the four weeks and one different one at weekends. This meant we were able to form a good relationship. Right at Home have been a wonderful support to our family over the past couple of months. Mum and dad have felt comfortable accepting the carer into their home, and every effort has been made to ensure consistency and to increase care as required. As dad has been in hospital, shifts have been moved
around to enable more support for mum, and we have been kept regularly informed of any concerns they had about her wellbeing. Their carer has a bright, kind and positive manner and gently encourages them in their personal care and taking medication and also helps with simple household tasks to ensure the house is clean and safe. I would highly recommend Right at Home.
Reply from Bob Thornton, Owner and Managing Director at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you Sian for taking the time to share your experience of the support you've been receiving from Right at Home. I am so happy with the care my mother has received. We moved back to Right at Home care as we missed the personal and professional touch. Carers we have experienced are kind and really interested in their clients, office staff always helpful and try their utmost to answer any questions, keeping you
informed if carer may be running a little late. Mum's carer is always masked, gloved and wears an apron. I would advise anyone looking for care for a loved one to look at Right at Home for that peace of mind.
Reply from Bob Thornton, Owner and Managing Director at Right at Home (Camberley & Woking)Thank you, Victoria for your review. The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.929 for Right at Home (Camberley & Woking) is calculated as follows: ( (39 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 42 Ratings = 4.929

Before joining Right at Home, I worked in the promotional merchandise industry. Anything you could brand, we would print. We operated as a global solution, meaning I had the pleasure of working on US, Europe and Asia timezones. I've always worked in finance ever since leaving sixth form and have a real passion for understanding how everything works, from the economy to budgeting.

What inspired you to join Right at Home?

Knowing what this industry gives back was key to my decision. Having close relatives who worked in this sector, I knew exactly what feeling you get when leaving and going home. That feeling of a job well done. Of really making a difference to someone. I say it to everyone I come across, certainly ex-employees from my time in the City. This role is incredibly rewarding, and I wouldn't change it for the world.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I'm always looking ahead. Strategically thinking about ways to grow the organisation and improve processes to increase efficiency. I spend time catching up with the CareGivers to discuss pensions, holiday pots or budgeting. From a client's perspective, I make sure that they continue having the best quality homecare that puts our name on the map.

Can you share a memorable moment or achievement that you have experienced as a caregiver?

I assisted a client with an old printer they had. When I say old, I mean 22+ years old. Not the kind of printer you can pick up from your local Currys or Argos. Both the branches in question made it our mission to get this individual printing again (as they make the most wonderful cards that EVERYONE enjoys). We sourced the printer on eBay. Negotiated a price. Received the item and made sure this was all set up for them to start using straight away. It's still going on to this day! The way I can tell is because everyone in the office has received a Christmas card!

What’s your hidden talent that (until now) most people don’t know about?

I can speak Spanish. I used to be fluent after spending 5 years of my childhood living in Tenerife.

What’s your favourite thing about working with your colleagues?

We are all just so, so different. In my previous role, it was very sales-driven and sales-based, meaning we had one mould of person. Here it is completely different. I think everyone here has done care in the past, and I love just how enthusiastically they speak about the sector. It's infectious!

Claire Skilton

Job Title: Registered Manager & Head of Compliance Joined: 2017

Claire’s return to college and her desire to ‘give something back’ were the key motivations that kick-started her career in care. Today, Claire oversees compliance across all four of our territories. Claire’s role is vital in ensuring that Right at Home delivers the highest standards for everyone involved - our clients, caregivers, and employees. Her dedication to this is truly inspiring.

Can you share a bit about your background and what you did before joining Right at Home?

I am a proud mother of four and someone who values lifelong learning. After taking time to focus on my family, I returned to my studies as a mature student, which led to my degree in social work. Following that, I worked for a charity for several years, where I was able to make a meaningful impact by supporting unpaid carers and families.

What motivated you to pursue a career in caregiving?

My caregiving journey has been shaped by a lot of personal experiences and life events. Supporting my elderly grandmother as she aged was a big part of it - it showed me how much of a difference a little care and compassion can make. As a mother of four, I’ve always been in the role of looking after others, and when I went back to school to study social work, it gave me a deeper understanding of how to support people in meaningful ways.

What inspired you to join Right at Home?

Their commitment to providing truly person-centred care. Right at Home focuses on quality care by offering hourly visits. This means we have the time to build real connections and provide the support people need without feeling rushed.

What does a typical day look like for you?

A typical day for me starts with checking my emails and completing any necessary admin tasks. I often visit other offices to make sure everything is on track and offer support as needed. No two days are exactly the same, but that’s part of what makes it so rewarding.

What do you enjoy or find most rewarding about your role?

What I enjoy most about my role is visiting the clients and seeing firsthand the difference our carers make in their lives and the impact they have on their well-being. I love listening to the carers and hearing their stories about going the extra mile; it’s a privilege to be part of a team that genuinely cares about making a difference.

What’s your favourite way to unwind after work?

Crocheting

What motivated you to pursue a career in caregiving?

" I’ve always worked with children, but I also have a lot of personal experience caring for adults. When I reached a point in my life where I could try something new, I felt drawn to caregiving because I knew I could provide the kind of care I’d want for my own family. I’m passionate about helping others, and I love that in social care every day brings an opportunity to learn and grow."

What inspired you to join Right at Home?

" What inspired me to join was the strong alignment I felt with Right at Home's values and ethos. I had applied and interviewed with other care companies, but from the website, CQC rating, and person-centred approach, I could immediately see that Right at Home was the perfect fit for me. After my interview, I knew this was an organisation I could really see myself growing with. Professional development is very important to me, and I’ve already felt listened to and supported in furthering my knowledge and practice."

What do you enjoy or find most rewarding about your role?

" I’d say the most rewarding part of my role is building meaningful relationships with clients and hearing about their lives and families. I understand it can be difficult for someone to adjust to a new routine or to having a carer in their home, so being able to build trust and help clients feel comfortable and happy with the care I provide means a lot to me. "

What are your interests or hobbies outside of work?

" I love sport, not so much participating at the moment, but watching sport is something I really enjoy. Football, cricket, boxing, fishing and golf are all things I love to watch or have a go at! I’m definitely a fair-weather sports person, so if it’s sunny, I enjoy playing football, cricket, fishing and golf, but I attend a weekly boxing class all year round! "

Do you have any pets? If so, what?

" I have two dogs called Harley & Bella. Harley is a rescue Alaskan Malamute we rescued in 2015. He is now around 14 years old! Bella is a rescue Siberian Husky cross, and we got her in 2022. She is about 8 years old! I have a Koi pond with about 10 Koi. I can spend hours cleaning the filters and feeding them! "

What's your favourite way to unwind after work?

" Practicing self care is super important to me as I know how easily it is to experience burnout, so being able to take time out of my day to decompress is essential. I usually enjoy a hot bath listening to my Harry Potter audiobook or when it’s not raining, sitting with the fish or walking the dogs!"

What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?

" That we are not all in the same boat, but we may be in the same storm, some people have yachts, canoes or a piece of driftwood. So to always be kind and thoughtful of other people's journeys. "
