Through every contact, management and senior staff demonstrated a clear understanding of the elderly and their needs, as they go through challenging experiences, such as poor health and confusion. Ciara has been passionate about care from a young age, beginning her career in the sector at just 18 - she worked in a residential home for seven years, dedicating herself to supporting the elderly, before stopping to have her firstborn. Rhys joined the Right at Home team in 2021 as Head of Finance & Business Development, after realising the difference Homecare can make to individuals. Rhys' job allows him to "oversee all finance-related activities and ensure the business is building partnerships with local authorities, communities and businesses in the local area."
"Completing business-wide financial processes from KPIs to payroll to management accounts. There is nothing more satisfying than implementing a new process and seeing how that affects business performance. "
Can you share a bit about your background and what you did before joining Right at Home?
Before joining Right at Home, I worked in the promotional merchandise industry. Anything you could brand, we would print. We operated as a global solution, meaning I had the pleasure of working on US, Europe and Asia timezones. I've always worked in finance ever since leaving sixth form and have a real passion for understanding how everything works, from the economy to budgeting.
What inspired you to join Right at Home?
Knowing what this industry gives back was key to my decision. Having close relatives who worked in this sector, I knew exactly what feeling you get when leaving and going home. That feeling of a job well done. Of really making a difference to someone. I say it to everyone I come across, certainly ex-employees from my time in the City. This role is incredibly rewarding, and I wouldn't change it for the world.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I'm always looking ahead. Strategically thinking about ways to grow the organisation and improve processes to increase efficiency. I spend time catching up with the CareGivers to discuss pensions, holiday pots or budgeting. From a client's perspective, I make sure that they continue having the best quality homecare that puts our name on the map.
Can you share a memorable moment or achievement that you have experienced as a caregiver?
I assisted a client with an old printer they had. When I say old, I mean 22+ years old. Not the kind of printer you can pick up from your local Currys or Argos. Both the branches in question made it our mission to get this individual printing again (as they make the most wonderful cards that EVERYONE enjoys). We sourced the printer on eBay. Negotiated a price. Received the item and made sure this was all set up for them to start using straight away. It's still going on to this day! The way I can tell is because everyone in the office has received a Christmas card!
What’s your hidden talent that (until now) most people don’t know about?
I can speak Spanish. I used to be fluent after spending 5 years of my childhood living in Tenerife.
What’s your favourite thing about working with your colleagues?
We are all just so, so different. In my previous role, it was very sales-driven and sales-based, meaning we had one mould of person. Here it is completely different. I think everyone here has done care in the past, and I love just how enthusiastically they speak about the sector. It's infectious!
Claire’s return to college and her desire to ‘give something back’ were the key motivations that kick-started her career in care. Today, Claire oversees compliance across all four of our territories. Claire’s role is vital in ensuring that Right at Home delivers the highest standards for everyone involved - our clients, caregivers, and employees. Her dedication to this is truly inspiring.
Can you share a bit about your background and what you did before joining Right at Home?
I am a proud mother of four and someone who values lifelong learning. After taking time to focus on my family, I returned to my studies as a mature student, which led to my degree in social work. Following that, I worked for a charity for several years, where I was able to make a meaningful impact by supporting unpaid carers and families.
What motivated you to pursue a career in caregiving?
My caregiving journey has been shaped by a lot of personal experiences and life events. Supporting my elderly grandmother as she aged was a big part of it - it showed me how much of a difference a little care and compassion can make. As a mother of four, I’ve always been in the role of looking after others, and when I went back to school to study social work, it gave me a deeper understanding of how to support people in meaningful ways.
What inspired you to join Right at Home?
Their commitment to providing truly person-centred care. Right at Home focuses on quality care by offering hourly visits. This means we have the time to build real connections and provide the support people need without feeling rushed.
What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me starts with checking my emails and completing any necessary admin tasks. I often visit other offices to make sure everything is on track and offer support as needed. No two days are exactly the same, but that’s part of what makes it so rewarding.
What do you enjoy or find most rewarding about your role?
What I enjoy most about my role is visiting the clients and seeing firsthand the difference our carers make in their lives and the impact they have on their well-being. I love listening to the carers and hearing their stories about going the extra mile; it’s a privilege to be part of a team that genuinely cares about making a difference.
What’s your favourite way to unwind after work?
Crocheting
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Treat people how you’d want your loved ones to be treated.
What’s the most interesting thing you have learnt in the past month?

Keleigh joined the Right at Home team in the summer of 2025 as a carer, following her completion of a Health and Social Work degree earlier in the year. She has always worked in the community, previously supporting an autistic child as a PA and working in a SEN school. Keleigh’s dedication and hard work quickly earned her a promotion to Senior Carer, and shortly after, she became the Deputy Care Manager for the Camberley team. She is sure to thrive in her new role!
What motivated you to pursue a career in caregiving?
" I’ve always worked with children, but I also have a lot of personal experience caring for adults. When I reached a point in my life where I could try something new, I felt drawn to caregiving because I knew I could provide the kind of care I’d want for my own family. I’m passionate about helping others, and I love that in social care every day brings an opportunity to learn and grow."
What inspired you to join Right at Home?
" What inspired me to join was the strong alignment I felt with Right at Home's values and ethos. I had applied and interviewed with other care companies, but from the website, CQC rating, and person-centred approach, I could immediately see that Right at Home was the perfect fit for me. After my interview, I knew this was an organisation I could really see myself growing with. Professional development is very important to me, and I’ve already felt listened to and supported in furthering my knowledge and practice."
What do you enjoy or find most rewarding about your role?
" I’d say the most rewarding part of my role is building meaningful relationships with clients and hearing about their lives and families. I understand it can be difficult for someone to adjust to a new routine or to having a carer in their home, so being able to build trust and help clients feel comfortable and happy with the care I provide means a lot to me. "
What are your interests or hobbies outside of work?
" I love sport, not so much participating at the moment, but watching sport is something I really enjoy. Football, cricket, boxing, fishing and golf are all things I love to watch or have a go at! I’m definitely a fair-weather sports person, so if it’s sunny, I enjoy playing football, cricket, fishing and golf, but I attend a weekly boxing class all year round! "
Do you have any pets? If so, what?
" I have two dogs called Harley & Bella. Harley is a rescue Alaskan Malamute we rescued in 2015. He is now around 14 years old! Bella is a rescue Siberian Husky cross, and we got her in 2022. She is about 8 years old! I have a Koi pond with about 10 Koi. I can spend hours cleaning the filters and feeding them! "
What's your favourite way to unwind after work?
" Practicing self care is super important to me as I know how easily it is to experience burnout, so being able to take time out of my day to decompress is essential. I usually enjoy a hot bath listening to my Harry Potter audiobook or when it’s not raining, sitting with the fish or walking the dogs!"
What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?
" That we are not all in the same boat, but we may be in the same storm, some people have yachts, canoes or a piece of driftwood. So to always be kind and thoughtful of other people's journeys. "
