Caremark Rotherham and Sheffield is pleased to support a local branch of a UK charity which works to improve life after brain injury.

We are providing sponsorship to Headway Rotherham which the organisation is putting towards meaningful activities for its members.

The first of these took place recently and saw members coming together for a cookery class, which was very well received.

Events like this help to equip Headway's members with valuable life skills, all while offering lots of fun and enjoyment.

Headway Rotherham provides information, support and services to help adults with brain injury, their families and their carers in Rotherham. It has over 200 members, of which around 60 are actively involved at present.

Sadie Bratt, Headway Rotherham’s Community Development and Engagement Worker, explained that although they are a nationally registered charity, they receive no funding from the Government and have to rely on donations like ours to run the service, which also includes advocacy.

“Donations like the one from Caremark Rotherham and Sheffield help massively and we are very grateful for their support,” she said.

“When someone has a brain injury their life changes dramatically and most lose their old circle of friends, so we provide a way of meeting like-minded people in a social and meaningful way.”

Caremark Rotherham and Sheffield Managing Director Mark McKenning said: “We support clients with brain injury, so Headway Rotherham is a charity which is very meaningful to us.

“It does amazing work in our local community and it’s nice to be able to give something back in this way and also open a pathway to Headway and its services.”
