Nexus Care Services is celebrating after being named a finalist for the Small Business of the Year award at the Royal Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Tamworth and Cannock Chase (SLTC) Awards 2026.

The Greater Birmingham Chambers of Commerce hosts the SLTC Awards, now in their tenth year of recognising and rewarding the best businesses across the region.

The judging panel shared that they were “impressed by the high calibre and diverse range” of entries submitted for the 2026 programme.

Nexus joins five other local businesses on the shortlist for the Royal Sutton Coldfield Small Business of the Year title.

It is the second year in a row that the care provider has reached the final stage of these prestigious local awards and the team couldn’t be prouder to be recognised once again.

Managing Director Tinga Umera said: “We are extremely appreciative to be recognised at these awards again this year. It has been another incredible twelve months for Nexus.

“We have welcomed new carers, secured award nominations and wins for both individuals and the wider team, hosted several successful community events and continued to deliver exceptional care to our growing client base.

“We are also currently working on our winter pressures initiative, which aims to ease strain on the NHS by supporting timely discharges and providing safe in-home care so people can avoid unnecessary hospital stays.

“Pressures on the NHS are reaching a critical point and we believe this work can make a welcome improvement.

“We look forward to celebrating with all the other finalists across the region early next year.”

Winners will be announced on 12 February 2026 at Statfold Country Park, during an evening of entertainment, food and networking.
