The Winter Courtyard at Conquest Hospital

Today’s official opening of The Winter Courtyard at Conquest Hospital was a truly inspiring occasion, bringing together an impressive group of civic leaders, NHS partners, volunteers, and community representatives. We were honoured to attend on behalf of FT Care a Fully CQC-registered home care provider, proudly standing as Friends of Conquest Hospital through our Holistic brand family. Among the distinguished guests was he High Sheriff of East Sussex, Anne Brown, whose presence highlighted the importance of community-led initiatives that enhance comfort and wellbeing within our hospitals. Also present was Cllr Abul Azad, Vice Chairman of East Sussex County Council, showing strong civic support for this meaningful project. We were delighted to welcome Helena Dollimore, MP for Hastings and Rye, who recognised the lasting value this new space will bring to patients, families, and hospital staff. The event also brought together The Mayors of Hastings, Battle, and Rye, demonstrating the shared commitment of our local towns to supporting Conquest Hospital and championing patient experience. Representing one of the region’s most active charitable organisations, Mark Baker, Chairman of The Hastings Round Table, attended in support of this community initiative. The occasion was further elevated by the attendance of Brett McLean, Royal Voluntary Service UK Platinum Champion and local President of Hastings Lions, whose involvement highlighted the vital contribution volunteers make to community wellbeing and healthcare support. A special thank you goes to Jo Clark, General Manager of The Friends of Conquest Hospital, for her warm invitation and outstanding leadership. Her dedication has brought this remarkable project to life, creating a beautiful, tranquil space that will offer peace and reflection throughout the festive season.
