A free community coffee morning is taking place in Barnet this February to help bring older people together and tackle loneliness in the community.

Hosted by local homecare provider GoodOaks Homecare, the event will be held on Friday 27th February, from 10am to 12 noon, at The Lounge, Christ Church Barnet, EN5 4LA

Local residents can enjoy complimentary tea, coffee and cakes in a relaxed and welcoming setting. A raffle with prizes will also be held, with all proceeds donated to Dementia UK.

Loneliness can have a significant impact on older people, particularly those who live alone or have limited opportunities for social interaction. Community events like this play an important role in helping people feel connected, valued and part of everyday life.

Larry Williams, Director of the Barnet and Enfield branch, said: “Loneliness can have a real impact on people’s wellbeing, particularly as they get older. As a local homecare provider, we see this first-hand. This coffee morning is about creating a simple, friendly space where people can come together, enjoy a chat and feel part of their community.”

Everyone is welcome and no booking is required.
