Covid Hero Award 2020 - Bluebird Care St Helens

Recipient: Bluebird Care St Helens

Date: Thursday 10 Dec 2020

Late last year, in light of the current pandemic, the Bluebird Care franchise held an awards ceremony in honour of those who had gone above and beyond in their role to ensure the customers and staff of Bluebird Care continued to get the care and support they needed.

We immediately took the opportunity to nominate our deputy manager Clare Toole for the work she did ensuring all customers get visits on time with excellent continuity of staff.

In March, Clare started to work from home. She stepped back into coordinating and zoned all areas of the borough into tiny teams to contain outbreak and protect our staff and customers. She has ensured all customers get visits, when they want them, with regular staff each day.

During the months Clare worked at home, she also managed on call. She kept going without complaint and we believe that without her on our team, we would not have been able to provide the visits in the way that we have been able to. She continued to check in with customers that had cancelled to ensure all was well.

Clare has been supportive to all, including other members of the office and has always kept smiling, even offering to cancel holidays to step in if we have ever been short. She manages all of this alongside being a Mum to her two young girls.

We are delighted to say Clare placed in the final 15 out of over 200 offices during an online awards ceremony.

Since starting Bluebird Care as a carer in 2016, Clare’s confidence has grown massively, and we are so happy to have her as our deputy as a lead for our team and support to all. We see Clare’s dedication in all that she does, and we honestly believe she would bleed blue!
She is everything we would want from a deputy manager.
