The Better Health at Work Award is open to organisations across the North East and Cumbria, recognising their efforts in promoting healthy lifestyles and prioritising employee wellbeing.

The award is structured across multiple levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold, Continuing Excellence, Maintaining Excellence, and Ambassador Status. Achieving Gold requires organisations to extend their health initiatives beyond the workplace, making a positive impact within the wider community. To qualify, we must have a minimum three-year health and wellbeing strategy and a one-year action plan outlining health improvement activities and task-related health initiatives.

Throughout the year, our organisation has actively engaged in regional and national health campaigns, encouraging staff participation—whether through fundraising, attending events, or acting on company guidance to pursue health checks aligned with our campaigns.

The assessment process included interviews with staff and the submission of a detailed portfolio demonstrating how we met the award’s criteria.
