Date: Tuesday 11 Oct 2016
Local at-home care company, Home Instead Senior Care in Ascot has been shortlisted as a finalist in the prestigious LaingBuisson 2016 Independent Specialist Care Awards. These national awards showcase the very best in care services.
The company has been shortlisted in the Personalisation category, given to the individual or team who has delivered an excellent personalised service to their clients, demonstrating choice and control for all adults and older people.
Home Instead’s award submission focused on the unique way they concentrate on personalised care to suit each individual client. The team at Home Instead incorporate photos into their care plans to illustrate how the client would like daily tasks to be completed. This ensures the service their caregivers provide meets the client’s exact requirements.
The company has also introduced life journals which allow clients to write down memories, create family trees and include photographs and personal anecdotes, creating a book of their life tailored to suit each individual.
Commenting on the nomination, owner of Home Instead Maggie Martin said, “We believe that each client is a true individual, with a rich history and unique personality. The best way to provide quality care is to understand a client as a whole person, not just the person we see today. We want to understand what makes them tick and what makes them smile, so they look forward to our visits and feel empowered, respected and in total control of their care experience.”
