Every carer that visited were professional and lovely to deal with. It allowed me to go back to work knowing they were well looked after. They communicated with us which we needed as having both parents unwell was very hard. The whole process was made so easy and staff in the office always helped us out no matter what. This service let my parents stay in their home, which was very important. Helping Hands for our family gave excellent service for which my family will be forever grateful For . Thoroughly recommend again and again.
For the last four years Helping Hands have been caring for my mother. She had complex needs requiring four visits daily by two carers. The carers often had regular slots on regular days giving a reassuring continuity for mum and family. They were always cheerful and professional. The office managers were always helpful as a point of contact when ever as a client further help or advice was sort.
Helping Hands have assisted my Mother for a short period after she had to spend a few weeks in hospital, after the home re-enablement team helped settle her back at home, Helping Hands then took over responsibility until she felt ready and able to cope on her own. All the Helping Hands staff have been very friendly and professional throughout her care.
Helping Hands have been providing support for my mother for some years. There can be no better praise than to say that she has always been very happy with her care: she reports that staff are friendly, helpful, and ready to do things the way she likes them done. Staff are punctual and polite, well-briefed and capable. Recently she needed extra support at very short notice, and the office dealt with this most satisfactorily. A big thank you to all the staff at Helping Hands.
The carers that attend my partner are always helpful and polite. The office staff are on hand to assist with any enquires and will help solve any problems that may arise. Overall we are satisfied with the care provided and look forward to working with the many staff that attend my partner and would recommend Helping Hands.
We chose Helping Hands Stroud as our choice of care provider for our mother. The care is of a good standard, with the tasks on the care plans carried out well. The communication with the agency has been excellent, always clear, prompt, concise and easy. She has been a great facilitator. The tasks on the care plan are carried out well, some of the carers that know mum well and are familiar, carry them out brilliantly and to a high standard and also complete the tasks within the timeframe always ensuring safety, privacy and dignity. This comes down to experience, familiarity of the individual carers, like all frameworks of employment. There will always be those less experienced and less conscientious but these are just a few and still learning. Helping Hands once aware have always demonstrated a quick response.
The carers always arrive when expected. They greet my husband (and me) with a smile every day and wish us a good morning. They all carry out their tasks and chat with my husband when doing so. There have been times when medication has been changed at short notice and arrangements made with the office to get these implemented. The carers always speak to me about these changes. Should there be any change in my husband's condition they always ask me if I had noticed anything. Communication is good between us all which I find reassuring. We now know the all the carers that visit and my husband is happy with them. It's good to have the rota in advance to know who will be coming.
Helping Hands have been caring for my elderly mother for the last six months. She had always been resistant to the idea of carers, but after a fall it was clear she needed help. I was expecting her to resent the intrusion, as she had lived alone for a long time and values her privacy, but as soon as the carers started coming she completely changed her opinion and now enjoys having their company. They are cheerful and polite, and often go out of their way to offer extra help or to spot and solve potential problems. They treat Mum with dignity and kindness, and we both value their support. The office team are also helpful and efficient. I was surprised at first at the number of different carers, as I had thought it would be a small team so that Mum could get to the know them all - but in fact this doesn't seem to cause a problem. The app which lets me see remotely what time a carer will be arriving or how a visit has gone is invaluable. I would recommend Helping Hands.
Our coordinator at Helping Hands Stroud is always quick to respond and provides solutions to problems. Always approachable, extremely understanding and proactive. The majority of the care ladies who provide care for my elderly mother are approachable, kind and respectful. The care can be a little disjointed depending on the age and experience of the carer.
Our whole experience with Helping Hands Home Care was a positive one, and I wish we had been able to engage their help earlier to support us. Everything ran smoothly and our requests for a particular time and day for a companionship visit were met. Helping Hands took the care to provide the same carer each week, helping mum to build up confidence and a good relationship between them. All staff that I came into contact with were kind and courteous. I felt that the whole family were being supported and would not hesitate to recommend Helping Hands to others.
Excellent carers very helpful and keen to help in everything.
Very pleased with the service I get.
Being only 59, carers where not on my list of things I'd need at this stage in life. I asked Helping Hands for assistance and had an initial meeting where everything they did and that I needed was explained and covered in detail and they started helping me at the beginning of February 2023. One thing that I really wanted was a male carer, if not all the time, as often as possible and this wish has been fulfilled. The stability this has given me has made me more relaxed than I thought I would be. The routine has meant that I don't have to worry about anything and am treated with respect and dignity at all times, especially with the personal care and I feel safe in my own home. On the, infrequent, days I don't have a male carer there are no problems and all the staff have been lovely. Neat, polite and punctual. Emails are answered promptly as are telephone calls by those office based. Highly recommended.
My Mum has dementia and we have up to four visits a day from the team in Stroud. From the outset the care compassion and service they have provided to Mum has been outstanding! They are very adaptable if I need to ask for changes to visit times to allow mum to attend appointments. We have regular reviews to ensure Mum's changing needs are met and over time they have several suggestions which have improved daily needs and care.
This is a service that I never thought I would need but things happen. Helping Hands staff have visited me from December 2022 onwards. All the staff that I have met have been lovely and so helpful and reassuring for all the tasks that I have asked for help with. Some tasks were so menial that I felt embarrassed at asking for help but your lovely carers have assured me that it was fine to ask them to do these jobs. They were all so good to talk to as well and a pleasure to have in my home.
Helping Hands is the best home care company I have ever used to support my 95-year-old Dad with his morning routine. The Stroud team have enabled him to live in his own flat rather than in care for several months, proving to be punctual, caring and capable. They use as small a visiting team as they can (mostly keeping to two people) and so the carers have really got to know my dad. They are patient, provide companionship and demonstrate a lot of common sense. They flag up household items that are running low and spot small health problems so that I can call in a doctor and prevent a small issue from becoming a bigger one. Communication between the manager, carers and me is good. Every email receives a prompt and appropriate reply. I wholeheartedly recommend Helping Hands in terms of performance, integrity and value for money.
Our care provider was from the outset friendly, relaxed and helpful. He was happy to go out walking but also told us that he could help with care on chores at home. He was conscientious about time and explained carefully about the other carer who would come when he was on leave in the future.
We have not been with you very long but we have experienced a lot. But the carers and staff have really been excellent with the care and social contact with me on my husband's care needs.
Helping Hands Home Care (Storud) have been an absolute Godsend to use, with the help that they are giving our mum. The carers brighten up Mum's day with every visit. It has been so difficult for her through this lockdown period. She really looks forward to their visits. We know that she will feel confident to have more care if and when the time comes. Thank you.
Your carers look after my mum and do a fantastic job, they are very caring, helpful and will do anything we ask. They do all her shopping, always willing to go the extra mile and as we live so far away it is so reassuring that they are there for her. Thanks for all you are doing we would highly recommend Helping Hands to anyone.
