View Full Details of Helping Hands Home Care (Barnsley)Helping Hands were excellent when a member of staff found my father with a black eye of unknown origin. They contacted me and after discussions which included the doctor they phoned 999 and stayed with him until the ambulance arrived. I live 90 miles away so I could not be there. Helpful and very caring. Thankyou.
We really struggled to find help for over the weekend for my mother with dementia until we come across helping Hands we have been using them for around 9 months and they are brilliant. Very reliable and flexible if need additional hours. All the staff have been great both in office and the visitors. Highly recommend.
We are both very pleased with the service we have recived. The carers have been very professional and really helpful and are mostly on time but we do understand sometimes there may be issues with other clients or heavy traffic. Any changes to visit times have been been dealt with straight away. No complaints at all
Having a stranger come into your home daily can initially be daunting. Quickly the carers from Helping Hands are not strangers, they become known to you. You can trust them and they see jobs that need to be done and do them. Their work is not rushed but time is not wasted. The carers vary young to old, which we older people can delight in as it keeps us young also.
Very helpful in meeting the changing needs of my mother. A very useful portal that provides information on each visit by their staff. Would recommend them to anyone who needs help with daily routines, such as dressing, washing up etc.
It has been a great comfort to our family to know my Mum is getting help, support and company during the week when it's difficult for us to visit her. Our experience with all staff, whether carers or management, has been very positive. Everyone is friendly, professional and accommodating. Thank you!
Helping Hands have been a great support to Dad as he gets more frail and less able to do things for himself. The carers are reliable, kind and thoughtful. Nothing is too much trouble and Dad looks forward to their visit. Staff are prompt to reply to me if I have any concerns and excellent at covering extra sessions when needed.
We have used Helping Hands since February 2022, so nearly a year now. I have found the majority of the ladies kind and conscientious. Maybe a little more training for the new younger girls would help with some of the minor problems, but to be honest they all seem open to suggestions and try their best. Their skills quickly improve. We had four visits a day for the first ten months and then reduced this to three, but only because we were having difficulty funding four visits. I refused the offer by the Social Services of a cheaper company because we are very happy with the service from Helping Hands. The managers are immediately responsive to any request and always contact us if there are any queries at all with my Mum's health or diet (for example).
Dad is 92 years young and doing very well. Although he is partially sighted, he still lives on his own and is very independent. He manages to get out and enjoy a walk in the village every day and my brother's wife, and other family members, go to dad's most days but they all work and, obviously, can't be with him all the time. I don't live in the UK and so am not around to be able to help out. Dad doesn't need carers in the usual sense of the word because he is well able to take care of his own needs. He just sort of needed some companionship. His main gripe was that he wasn't able to get to 'the pub' where lots of old friends and acquaintances frequent a very traditional old pub. Google told me that Helping Hands will do whatever we want them to - it turned out that included taking Dad to the pub. What an absolute life changer that has been for him! Thank you Helping Hands!
I am very happy with the care my mum gets. I can get time out knowing Mum will be well cared for and get some nice company. The company have been great in helping me add in some extra calls too.
