My support worker is absolutely fantastic. She makes my life easier and my world brighter. Without her, I struggle to do the simplest things, such as do the house chores or even just leave the house. Physically I struggle massively and mentally I'm not much better. But with my support, I can go out into the community, visit shops and attend appointments with much less stress and anxiety. I know I can be honest with my support worker without any fear of judgment. We take each session as it comes, meaning if I don't feel up to doing something, we will work around it or do something else. I've had my support worker for over three years now and my quality of life has hugely improved and this is all thanks to her. She really is one of a kind. A true star. I owe her so much.

When I started with Care Horizons, I was struggling with my mental health and Care Horizons have helped me over the years. Initially I had 3 members of staff who were all very good at supporting me and getting me through difficult times. I have also been receiving support from another member of staff for over 3 years and another member of staff who has been just as helpful. The manager has been a great leader, she has gone above and beyond being there when I need her with calls and support. Another member of staff has always been great too, she's been patient and always allowed room for additional requests regarding hours. Support throughout lockdown was incredible, support workers helped with retrieving medication and any anxiety I was experiencing. When I moved away for just over 6 months, there was a sense of relief knowing that Care Horizons would have me back and accommodate my hours which I greatly appreciated.
I would really recommend Care Horizons as they have had a massive impact on my journey with my mental health and independence.

Also they have provided a sleep-over service for times when I needed to be absent and I have been very pleased to welcome them into our home. Personnel have always been friendly and supportive to my son's needs. Overall good company and excellent staff.

The manager and the team have played a pivotal role in initially helping to save our son from taking his own life on numerous occasions over the last few years. The manager has always been there for our son showing him empathy, warmth, care, support and guidance an outstanding leader and a lovely caring human being. This is backed up by another staff member providing excellent customer service and the amazing carers who are always calm, supportive, considerate and guiding with our son's best interest at heart. Again this is due to the manager's carefully selecting the right people to work for Care Horizons. the manager and the team are always approachable, friendly, considerate and experienced to help deal with any issues as they arise. I would highly recommend Care Horizons to any future clients/service users and happy to have a chat.

The care provider keeps within my needs of what I need to look after me, especially with my condition. I think the staff are very excellent and very understanding and never judge me for what I am. They're very helpful and understand what needs to be done and help me with my shopping which is very important because I can't lift anything because of my spinal cord and I have anxiety which gets really bad at times and the staff put me at ease very much, so thank you.

Mum has had a lot of carers over the past 8 years but I can't praise Care Horizon Ltd enough. Care Horizon Ltd have been looking after mum since June 2015 and they have made the world of difference to both my own and mum's life, they are excellent carers and mum looks forward so seeing them. I know when I go on holiday or have been unwell as recently then I can depend on the carers to look after mum without me having to worry about her. The communication between carers and myself is excellent. I am so thankful that mum is now under the care of Care Horizon Ltd.

Vierka has been managing director of Care Horizons since 2017, providing bespoke assistance to people with learning difficulties and mental health needs. “I tell my clients all the time not to worry. Let me worry about it and we’ll work it out,” she says.
Vierka’s greatest satisfaction is when clients and their families visit the Care Horizons office for a cup of tea. “It’s a wonderful, positive atmosphere,” she says. “It’s never about what our clients lack; it’s about what they have and how we can help them use that to their advantage.”
She continues: “I am honoured to work with a team of incredible people, who are very versatile and resourceful. For me, you are only as good of a leader, as the teams you are managing and supporting. Their accomplishments are a reflection on the amazing team we have in place to enable us to support not just our clients but our staff members too.”
