Overall Experience

Following recovery from surgery to repair a broken left hip, and a number of readmissions to hospital, reduced mobility made it impossible for me to take care of my toe nails to visit a chiropodist. The home nails service provided by SPDNS homecare over the past 18 months, has proved invaluable and excellent in every way. So much so, in fact that having observed the service and care I have received, my wife also now uses the SPDNS nails service, and we are both happy to highly recommend it. Should we need to use any of the other services SPDNS home care provides, we are sure you will be consulted.

As a family we are very happy with the help dad receives. Care is taken regarding all aspects of aid. Friendly and polite always- dad is happy to have them in his home. They go above and beyond. The recent price increase was a shock but expected.

Most of the staff are very nice and friendly. The only problem I had was that the carers came too early to put Mum to bed in the evenings.

My carer takes me out and about, if he did not take me out I would not get out at all. My carer is friendly and kind and treats me with respect.

He makes me cups of tea. He makes me a sandwich when I want. He also takes the rubbish out for me.

I have always found SPDNS Home Care fantastic: They always turn up, always do what is needed with care and understanding, and go above and beyond to make sure my mum is well cared for. I have no issues or ever had any cause for concern or complaint.

We have had SPDNS carers for the last 8 years for both my Mother and Father. We have found them to be very caring and supportive of us whilst we have recognised that we are only one or two of their many clients. They have tried to accommodate our needs, especially when different arrangements have been necessary for hospital appointments. They are never critical of us or our home. All the staff have been very courteous, friendly, and approachable which is just lovely.

I have been with SPDNS homecare since May 2004, previously I worked in hospital settings and domiciliary care. I am also a trusted assessor and can assess people in their own homes and order the appropriate equipment they need. I am extremely proud to work for SPDNS and continue to strive along with my colleagues to provide the best care we can give to our service users and their families.

I was a Registered Nurse for many years and have worked as a Care Manager for SPDNS Home Care since 1997. In that time I have seen many changes. Initially, I worked purely in a qualified nurse role and for our Hospice at Home Team. I have been the Care Manager since 1999 for the Southend area and work closely with Stacey in her role. Our day-to-day responsibilities include dealing with referrals, undertaking assessments to ascertain the needs of service users and planning their care visits.

Mollie-Jane Randall Job Title: Care Administrator Joined: 2024

I joined the Adult Team for SPDNS in August 2024. I have previously worked in the care industry for 5 years as a Field Supervisor in Domiciliary care and Senior Support Worker in Dementia care homes. I work closely alongside our Care Managers to provide a quality service to our staff and service users. I absolutely love my role in our team and am looking forward to my future here.
