The belief in ‘Continuity of Care’ starts from the moment carers carry out an assessment. The provider matches a Care Assistant to a Service User's needs and only takes on care packages they know and can support with a suitable carer, enabling a consistent routine and a chance to build a mutually beneficial working relationship.
Care packages start from just three hours per week and can be used flexibly for cleaning, shopping, personal care, respite or sitting service, and laundry. Care packages can be discussed by phone, followed by a free, no-obligation assessment, where an assessor visits the home to discuss individual needs.
Care Assistants are all trained by an in-house St Georges Ltd trainer and are also given regular refresher training to ensure they continue to meet expectations. Inexperienced care staff will also complete the Care Certificate with St Georges Ltd. Only after they have completed the courses satisfactorily and undertaken a shadow shift with an experienced carer are they able to work on their own.
St Georges Ltd is an Umbrella body for CRB Disclosures, and all new staff must complete a new CRB disclosure before commencing work.
Once an assessment has been carried out, St Georges devises a care plan based on this information, which is then forwarded to the service user for approval and signature before being implemented.
Any changes the service user requires can be amended at any time.
The team also undertake regular supervisions with Care Staff to ensure consistent high standards are being maintained. Service users' care plans are also updated annually or sooner if needs change.
