Auntie has had good service from the carer today. She generally likes the staff. One carer can be a little sharp in their tone of voice.
Auntie does not wish to add anything else

She has lively conversations with mum and it is nice to know that mum has a friendly face whenever mercy is visiting

I have been with Bluebird Homecare for some time now, and I am very pleased with the progress. The carers are excellent, well trained, very helpful and friendly. They are very professional and work very hard at what is a difficult job. I have been a quadriplegic for 16 years and this group of carers
are the best I have ever had. You work around me and the call times that I need, which is brilliant. The all round care is excellent!! I wish I had found Bluebird years ago. Thankyou very much for your care and attention. Please convey my gratitude to all staff involved.

Bluebird care took over my care from a previous provider in March 2025. Standards of care are good overall. Any issues we have had when contacting the management team have not always been dealt with promptly and to our satisfaction. I don't always feel listened to due to my speech impairment. However,
I am happy with Bluebird Care at this point.

I feel very confident that my Mum is being taken care of by Bluebird Care, all of the carers that look after my Mum's basic needs, treat her with dignity, respect and empathy. They have become part of our extended family. The yearly reviews are helpful to identify any changes that my Mum may require
in her care plan, last year my Mum had to go into hospital and Bluebird were concerned and asked after her welfare which goes above and beyond.I particularly like the website where I can check on the customer schedule, read the notes on the visits and I use the online chat if I need to change or enquire about anything, this is always promptly dealth with, all in all yes I recommend Bluebird Care .

Communication is, to say the least, "very slow" to "non-responsive".
Care plans are created, but not adhered to. In many instances, tasks were ticked as completed, when in fact those particular cares had not been done.

They are dismissive and defensive if any concerns are raised.
There is

little or no integration of new carers, into the family - suddenly a new carer will turn up, who has never been before, doesn't know where anything is in the house, or what to do. You, therefore, spend your time assisting the carer to do their tasks throughout the whole visit.

There appears to be very little teamwork, and the organisation just seems to be run very haphazardly, which causes no end of confusion for the service user. We would never recommend BlueBird Care, Bradford (North) to any of our friends, family or colleagues, as we have been let down very badly on more than one occasion with them. Bluebird care has been a very negative experience, and one we would hope never to repeat.

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.422) out of 10 for Bluebird Care Bradford North is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.622 for Bluebird Care Bradford North is calculated as follows: ( (32 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) + (4 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 45 Ratings = 4.622

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Bluebird Care Bradford North is based on 8 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4.8

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Laura

Laura Patne

Job Title: Community Engagement Officer

Laura looks after community engagement and marketing.

"My job is to ensure our customers are happy and comfortable with the care they are receiving. This also involves a lot of care planning for new customers who require domiciliary care, also known as home care. This service is where our carers visit once or more a day to provide care in the client’s own home.

I meet new customers, sit down with them and their families and make sure they receive the care that they want. It’s not just the customers we care for, it’s the families as well.

My work means that I’m office-based for three days per week and out meeting clients, old and new on the remaining two days. This can vary from one to perhaps as many as six clients per week, mainly new ones. I also work on our marketing on days I’m in the office.

I think I’m caring, compassionate and easily approachable. I’ve had a number of different jobs in care, but I’ve always been drawn back to home care; there’s just something special about it. I really enjoy getting involved in people’s care, making sure they’re comfortable in their surroundings and even becoming part of their family.

I have previously done a lot of home care for Bluebird, and I still keep in touch with clients and call in to see how they’re doing.

My favourite part of the job is being out there with the people. I love the Bluebird office team, but I love being out there meeting our clients even more."

Gail

Gail Fletcher

Job Title: Live-In Care Manager

Gail manages our live-in care service.

“When someone is interested in live-in-care, or respite care, I go to meet them and discuss their needs. I get to know them, and from that, I put together a care plan and organise care for them.

When I meet a client, I try to look at the person as a whole and support them to live in the way they want. I look at their circumstances with them and from that, I can identify how best to support them.

The office-based bit is nice, especially working with passionate and inspiring people. But I get a lot of satisfaction from making a difference with our clients. Sometimes it’s the small things that make the difference. It’s pinpointing the things that really matter and focusing on them, and making the most of the positives.

It’s about asking the right questions and finding out what is really important to them. In this job, anything can happen, and you can get almost anything thrown at you. Helping in these situations is very satisfying,g and the best bit is when we can go in, provide reassurance and make the family and person happy."
