Sarah joined Bluebird Care as one of our very first care assistants, shortly after we opened our office here in Norfolk in 2010. Sarah has held many roles within the company and, in 2024, was promoted to Care Manager. She has worked very hard to achieve a number of professional qualifications since joining Bluebird Care and successfully completed her Level 5 in leadership and management in the summer of 2019. Sarah is a respected and loyal member of the team, always dedicated to providing the highest quality of service and support for our customers and staff.
Sarah says:
“I joined Bluebird Care in October 2010 and was among the first five care assistants employed by the company. I started off as a part-time Care Assistant with no background in the industry and little idea of what to expect. With thorough training and the support of the management team, I soon found that it was not only rewarding but also a role I enjoyed and wanted to build my career on with Bluebird Care.
During my time with Bluebird Care, I completed my Level 2 and Level 3 diplomas in Health and Social Care, becoming a full-time supervisor in April 2013. I then moved to become the Care Co-ordinator later in the same year. Both roles offered different challenges and gave me a great sense of satisfaction. I went on to complete my Level 3 Diploma in Business Administration, and I have recently completed my Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
In my role as Registered Manager, I am dedicated to ensuring we are providing excellent service and our customers are receiving good quality care. I have a passion for helping others and am committed to making a positive difference in people's lives through person-centred care planning, promoting independence, dignity and equality. "
I kind of fell into Health & Social Care in July 2019, as it enabled me to work around my family, however, I found that I loved being a Care Assistant and supporting people to remain in their own homes. Every day is different and it’s an amazingly rewarding career, I haven’t looked back, so much so I have progressed my career in care, from being a Home Care Assistant, a Reablement Support Worker, a Care Supervisor and now a Care Coordinator for Bluebird Care Norwich & North Norfolk.
I came into elderly care later in my life.
I have worked in many different environments completing a variety of roles.
Whilst my children (now men) were small I worked around them and worked in childcare in various pre-schools, I was being paid to play on a daily basis and this suited me.
I started in elderly care in 2006 as a supervisor and subsequently co-ordinator in a new business I was the “office “ for the 1st 18 months.
I was promoted to assistant manager and helped the company to grow and expand. I have completed several NVQs the most recent being L5 in Health & Social Care Management.
I have been an RM at 2 services one for Mental Health & one for the Elderly.
Since 2020 I have worked part-time to meet the needs of my expanding family.
I love spending time with my grandchildren they are my rays of sunshine. I enjoy gardening, reading and crocheting most of my family and friends have a crochet hat! I have 3 dogs who I love walking and getting out with.
I am an avid football fan and a lifelong Hammer (West Ham United).
Had I had the opportunity to play girls'/ladies' football when I was young I would have relished it.
My new chapter with Bluebird is part of my care journey and I hope that I can bring my experiences into my everyday job and also know that I will learn lots more as, as long as I am in care there will be learning opportunities for me.
Sarah is an experienced account assistant and bookkeeper and a very welcome addition to our team!
Sarah is delighted to help with any queries in connection to our customer invoices or supplier accounts. In addition, Sarah also supports the administration of our staff payroll and financial systems.
Sarah works part-time for Bluebird Care (Norwich and North Norfolk) and outside of work can be found looking after her three wonderful children or walking her lively cockapoo.
