5 years of delivering care to this home. Firstly, to the reviewer's father then to both parents and then his mother for 4 years
In over 14,000 visits the door has been closed but left unlocked on 3 occasions. Some allowance ought to be made for human...
I find it amazing that this company employs people without even the skill to turn on a hob or the initiative to put dirty dishes in the dishwasher!!!. I had to spend a night in hospital and they organised a carer at short notice. I spent ages on the phone trying to help her understand which buttons to press on the hob as somehow the microwave was locked. I would never use these people
I have tried on a number of occasions to reach the complainant by phone to apologise for her expectations not being met. The complainant was attending hospital and her husband had accompanied her and wanted to go home but didn't want to be alone. The hospital called a number of providers late in...
Both carers have been utterly fantastic. We can't rate the care that my father is receiving highly enough. Professional, personable, funny, optimistic, a breath of fresh air. My dad has four children and we've all met both carers. My dad and all four of us agree that they are wonderful. We strongly recommend that a pay rise would be most appropriate.
The carers support my brother and he gets four visits a day which helps me to have a bit of a break. The carers are very good with my brother and interact with him and follow his routines. We are happy with the service that Portfolio has provided for the last 2 years.
Thank you, Betty, for taking the time and effort to submit a review. We are pleased to hear that Portfolio's staff are taking good care of your brother. Such feedback is very encouraging for the carers who undertake vitally important tasks, sometimes at unsociable hours and frequently in difficult circumstances.
This is the third care agency I have used and Portfolio has been the best I have used. The regular carers and their relief are excellent and consider my needs at all times. The all-day carer I have is absolutely first-class and treats me as an equal at all times. She shows me the utmost respect, which means everything to me.
Portfolio Homecare have been supporting me following a traumatic brain injury. The care I am receiving is great, they are supporting with my recovery, getting me to step outside my comfort zone, and celebrating my successes. My carer is fantastic, she is very attentive and asks questions, going over and above. My partner has found the office staff very helpful and accommodating. One staff member in particular is very helpful. The management is getting better, the rotas are still a little off. Another staff member has helped updating my care plan, making suggestions of ensuring my wishes are being included in everything. Whilst promoting independence and dignity, she is brilliant.
Thank you C for your comments on the care you receive from Portfolio and we will pass them on to the carers who attend you. It is a privilege to be able to contribute to your recovery.
I am very happy with the service. Any problems are resolved quickly now. I would recommend this service. Carers are always polite and respectful.
Thank you Stephanie for the kind words regarding the care provided by Portfolio Homecare. It isn't always easy to get it right all the time so I am pleased that when things aren't as they should be our staff resolves matters quickly.
Overall, my grandma's care has been good. However, on a few occasions the carer has raised their voice on my grandma who has a language barrier and does not speak English or understand it. Other carers have done really well with this situation and do take extra care with her needs. The carers are not scheduled to come in at a particular time of the day and this sometimes causes my grandma to become restless, especially in the evenings.
Portfolio provided excellent care for my mother during her last two months. The staff who came in were very professional, and treated her always with compassion and dignity, never impersonally. I would not have been able to look after her without their support and I am very grateful that this service was available. The manager who visited to set up the scheme initially was equally professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Portfolio to anyone.
How can we ever thank you for the kindness and compassion that you showed our father in his last 2 months, enabling him to die at home. All your carers without exception were professional and knowledgeable, they were able to reposition dad to make him comfortable, he looked forward to your visits and we had complete trust in the care that you gave. We we would especially like to thank the husband and wife team who were so kind and gentle with our father and allowed him to die with dignity. Thank you doesn't seem enough but we couldn't have followed his wishes without you support.
Following release from hospital my mother came home with a care package of 2 carers 4 times a day. The carers visiting my mother were very professional, caring and considerate of her daily determination of health. She was treated with dignity and kindness at every visit. Thank you for providing us with the wonderful best carers we could have possibly hoped for.
I have found a great homecare company, their name is portfolio. They are providing 24 hour round the clock care for my wife who has spinal cancer.
The office staff are always helpful and understanding and the carers are brilliant. I have absolutely no reservations in recommending Portfolio to anyone looking for a great homecare company either for themselves or a loved one.
Excellent care company, always very welcoming, helpful and professional whenever I've needed to communicate with them. All personal carers are so kind and helpful towards my father. I consider their attention to detail has been beneficial in keeping my father at home. Can't thank them enough.
We are only just starting our care journey with Portfolio, my grandmother needs two individuals to visit us four times a day. Our carers so far have been so kind, respectful, efficient and courteous. I would also add that the manager I have spoken to could not be more accommodating and helpful with queries and questions. We are so grateful that they are making this hard journey a little easier for my grandmother and our family too. Thank you.
Thank you Portfolio, I will be eternally great full keep up the good work.
Portfolio Homecare provided seven months of palliative care for my dear mum. Considering how difficult it must have been during COVID for Portfolio to organise staff during such difficult times, I felt they provided a great service. Although the morning visits could be a bit hit and miss at times, a routine was eventually achieved. I will be forever grateful for Portfolio who were always at the end of the phone when I needed advice etc. A special thank you to mum's night time carer and the live-in carer, as well as the daytime girls. My mum's wish was to stay in her own home for as long as possible. Thankfully this was achieved with the help of Portfolio.
Thank you.
My mum was left until 12pm for her morning call which should have been at 9am. They left my mum with a full catheter with no communication. This is not the first time this has happened.
My mum has always requested female carers and this company thinks it’s acceptable to send male carers to do her personal care.
I would never recommend this company to even look after a dog, let alone a loved one.
My husband had 2 carers 4 times a day provided free by NHS and they were wonderful. They became like good friends. They did the work expertly and carefully and made my husband's last weeks as comfortable as possible. I can’t praise them enough.
My husband is paraplegic, paralysed from the chest downwards, he has no core strength or control so is unable to sit up without help for example. Portfolio Carers were assigned to administer his medication 3 times a day and to help him to bed wash and wash, change his bedding etc. They gave him a double dose one day in error! It was hard communicating with them as most of the carers spoke broken English.
With COVID-19 being about it was important to us for the carers to either take their shoes off or wear coverings, especially when we were told that in some of the homes they go to they may be treading in urine or excrement. The director of the company would not agree to his staff wearing shoe coverings, he said they could slip and he would not agree to them taking their shoes off due to what they may have trod in earlier. We parted company with Portfolio Care.
We are able to speak up for ourselves but what about clients who are not able to?
