Overall Experience

The Homecare People provided support for my mother-in-law (MIL) for over 18 months when she needed help due to her level of dementia. She initially needed a few hours each day, increasing as her dementia worsened. The experience of their staff is enhanced by additional training which is essential for people caring for clients with dementia. The carers who spent time with my MIL recognised her decline and acted accordingly by encouraging her when she was capable of completing tasks, assisting when she wasn't, giving her choices, etc. They kept her house in good order, documented any expenditure, ensured the house was secure when they left, took her to medical appointments when asked and reported on any concerns so the family could deal with these. Daily visit reports were provided online. Carers of particular note are: Gina who built a great relationship with my MIL; Sarah whose practicality was invaluable; the management team, including Hayley who provided cover when needed.

My mum received Homecare from the Wokingham team for over four years. Initially the care was very minimal as mum was fairly mobile. Gradually she found she needed extra help with personal and practical matters. The team were very helpful and supportive to her needs, which gave myself and the family the reassurance she could remain in her own home. She praised the carers for their kindness, compassion and respect and looked forward to their visit each day.
It was really reassuring to know we would be contacted if the carers had any concerns about mum.

We would highly recommend Homecare to anyone needing it.

My late partner suffered from early onset frontal temporal dementia, and eventually required 24/7 care from professionals, above that which I could provide.
We turned to Homecare to provide this care, and for several years this company diligently and efficiently sent full time live-in carers to cover all required care duties, which became increasingly demanding as the disease progressed, obviously.
One particular individual carer, as selected by, and then engaged through, Homecare, proved to give exceptional dedicated care, and this person certainly improved the quality of life of my late partner in her final years.
Support from Homecare management was also excellent throughout, and they were always on hand to answer any questions which occasionally arose.

I would have no hesitation in recommending this care company for all one's care related needs.

We were so pleased to have found the homecare people who had been recommended to us; the staff are absolutely amazing, especially Hayley. They are kind and caring and do a fabulous job. Spencer sorted out all the logistics for us when we had to go from daily visits to live in carer for both my parents. They were amazing

I've been very pleased with the care provided by The Homecare People for my mother over the last 3 years. They developed a personalised plan focused on her Mixed Dementia and have consistently delivered thoughtful, high-quality support.
The carers are kind, patient and genuinely engaging, helping my mother feel at ease while encouraging her with activities suited to her interests. The service is well organised, with clear communication and thorough visit updates.

I would confidently recommend The Homecare People to others looking for reliable, compassionate care at home.

I can't praise the lovely lady that looked after my father enough.
She managed to get my father to do task that I could not get him to do.
Like getting into the bath to be showered. She was so enthusiastic, energetic with everything she did.
My father has Alzheimer's and is quite stubborn. She also looks after a lady next door who is over 100 and has been looking after her for quite sometime. So this was an easy decision to make.
The staff from this agency are extremely professional.
I wish I could name all those involved.
Unfortunately my father has now gone to a home after an illness. I would have loved to continue with this agency. But unfortunately the medical team said this would not be good for him.

I would highly recommend this company it takes so much pressure of myself and family members.

The service provided is excellent. Initially we started with just a few hours per week, they ensured consistent familiar carers, this has increased to 4 times daily with a group of lovely, friendly ladies who come in to brighten mums day, carry out housework, short walks out and any other helpful jobs needed. The management team are excellent, easily contactable and deal with any changes or emergencies efficiently and quickly. My mum was initially reluctant to have carers in to help however she loves them coming in and enjoys their help and friendly, fun conversations.

The Homecare People provide an excellent service that is far superior to the standard care agencies provided by social services. The carers are smartly dressed, friendly and cater for the clients' needs in a professional way. They also quickly adapt to changing circumstances without any fuss, with the management team overseeing the transitions.

I am very pleased with the service your company has given my husband. The ladies come once a week to give a bath and hair wash, which I am not able to do. They are caring, cheerful and very professional and I love them coming here. My husband is also very happy for them to help him. Thank you.

The Homecare People were recommended to me five years ago when my husband was taken ill and became bedbound at home. For 3 years with 2 carers 3 times a day they regularly and kindly attended to my husband. When he died in 2022 I kept them on for me with one carer 3 times a week. I have subsequently undergone two knee replacement operations and during my convalescence (the second spell of which is now current) I have one carer 3 times a day. I cannot speak highly enough of their skill, knowledge and reliability as well as the friendly and respectful way in which they carry out their tasks.

I am writing this review to express just how impressed I am with the care and respect my father has been shown by his carer. She has met his needs, whether it is to ensure he has fluids near him or contacting his surgery when there has been a clinical need, always keeping me up to date. He could not have had a kinder, more caring person.

The Homecare People began looking after my mother a number of years ago to relieve the pressure on my father. They also kept an eye on him too. After my mother passed away, some of the girls came to the funeral. They then looked after my father, and as they knew my mother was a great comfort to him. Nothing was ever too much trouble. The girls were always professional, treating my parents with care and compassion. Any concern was passed on to the family. I have complete confidence in The Homecare People and thoroughly recommend them. We found them to be invaluable.

My mum was cared for by The Homecare people for several years before she passed away. All the staff were professional, reliable and very caring. My mum was severely disabled and needed a lot of help and attention. The carers carried out all tasks to a high standard whilst preserving her dignity. She had four visits a day, which she looked forward to. This enabled her to remain living at home. The office staff were also very helpful and a pleasure to deal with. Our family will be forever grateful to The Homecare people and I would recommend them to anyone.

I am very satisfied with the care I have been receiving since 2018 and find the carers very friendly and helpful. In view of the difficult circumstances, due to covid, the company has coped extremely well and continued to supply good care throughout. I feel we should all be more appreciative of the people prepared to be our carers.
