I would be lost without and would not be able to live on my own.

I have only been a client for the past 4 months, but so far the service which I have three days a week has been excellent.

Absolutely fantastic so knowledgeable, so kind and caring we couldn't of asked for better went above and beyond the carer saved my dads life I don't know what we would of done without her and even though my dad is now in a nursing home she still visits him.

She was friendly and nothing was too much trouble. She not only cared for the parents but was also very supportive of my wife and her sister during this stressful time, giving them helpful advice to cope with senile parents.

From the time we met the carer we knew she would be perfect for the level of care our parents needed at the time. She was such an easy person to be with both my mum ( who could be difficult) accepted the help and my dad really liked her. She was fun which was good for dad and really she was there more for him at the time. She stayed with us until mum and dad went into a home. During the time she looked after mum and dad nothing was too much trouble for her. Many times she went above and beyond what was expected of her. On numerous occasions she was a listening ear for both myself and my sister and on occasions she mopped up our tears. She was a real comfort and we felt we could discuss anything we were worried about especially when the situation was clearly getting worse. She never spoke out of turn but was such a support.she became a real friend to my mum which was so pleasing to see. We feel blessed to have had the carer in our lives.

My mum's carer is one of the nicest people i have ever met and i'm 63. She is warm and caring and nothing is too much trouble ever ! She always goes above and beyond what is expected and my mum and her husband look forward to seeing her. Too many times to mention that she has made mine and brothers life so much easier and if i could i would honour her with a medal. We really couldn't manage without her !!

The standard of care provided was excellent, and great dignity was shown by the team to Dad. They were all very kind, efficient and extremely supportive to my mother who struggled under difficult circumstances, often going above and beyond what would normally be expected from a care provider. The family could not have asked for better care, and we would highly recommend their services.

I have been using Amethyst Home Care to look after my dad for over 14 years. Dad is nearly 95 years old! He is beautifully cared for in his own home and their attention to detail is excellent. We started with two visits a day all those years ago and for the past 6 years Amethyst Home Care have provided a live-in carer as my dad has dementia and mobility issues. He is happy and relaxed and so am I knowing how well looked after he is. Personal hygiene care is second to none, homecooked meals every day and attention to Dad's needs including an Alzheimer's Choir weekly where my dad sometimes sings solo supported by his carer! Thank you Amethyst Home Care - they have given me peace of mind and my dad a quality of life that I never thought possible at this age.

I was especially impressed with how you train carers: teaching them how to do the calls and ensuring they understand. I was pleased with the strict adherence to hand hygiene and personal protective equipment. It is great to have such a high standard of care and we were lucky to have you. I could breathe easily trusting that my mother was being cared for at home as I would do. I knew I would be contacted if there were any issues, as well as potential solutions. I admire the ethos of your agency and the consistency of care. I hope under your strong leadership, Amethyst will flourish for years to come. We need people like you to train the next generation of carers: with both the right skills and attitudes.

Amethyst Care looked after my mother for c. 3 years, prior to her passing after a long illness. My experience of the team was that they were professional, caring, and thoughtful; working with the family and supporting my mother. Their significant experience and guidance was invaluable, particularly when dealing with hospitals and medical staff. Throughout, they were always flexible, tailoring the length and frequency of visits to meet Mum’s needs. The team became like an extension of our family and we had great professional and personal confidence in them. Despite my mother’s deteriorating condition, she was comfortable, content and safe in Amethsyt’s care and most importantly she was treated with love and dignity. Without their involvement, she would not have been able to stay in her own home. Myself and the family are so grateful for the support that the Amethyst team gave us and I would have no hesitation in recommending their services.

Towards the end of her life my mother developed complex medical conditions which meant she had multiple hospital admissions and was increasingly unable to care for herself independently. She was very keen to stay in her own home and the Amethyst Care team allowed this to happen. They visited twice daily to get her up in the morning, prepare food for the day, and help her get ready for bed. She was treated throughout with kindness, compassion and dignity. The care went above and beyond what was necessary, additional aids were suggested and often provided and on several occasions her carer brought food from her own home to help with her failing appetite. Amethyst Care were knowledgeable and professional and had an awareness of the Croydon care system which allowed them to help with referrals to other agencies when needed. We felt confident that they understood her medical needs. We can highly recommend Amethyst Care for their kindness, compassion and professionalism.

After my brother-in-law left the hospital; it was clear that he would require assistance to live and stay in his own home.

Amethyst Home Care are an independent company recommended to me by staff at the hospital. The owner and her highly dedicated and highly professional team are exceptional. They care for my brother-in-law as if he were a family member, and he is treated with great dignity, kindness and respect. The team take care to cook him delicious meals each day.

The Amethyst team also keep his house clean, ensure that my brother-in-law washes each day, do his shopping, take him to various appointments, and liaise with his doctor when required. They also take the time to chat with my brother-in-law about various interests and topics, and they have become his friends. I have always found the owner and her team are very approachable.

It gives me great peace of mind to have such amazing, dedicated carers looking after my brother-in-law to such a high standard.

I was pointed to Amethyst care by the OT care nurse in the hospital where my uncle was in. It was obvious that my uncle was going to need 24-hour care when he left hospital. At that point, I wasn’t sure where to turn. I telephoned the owner of the company and she was so caring, thoughtful and open to flexibility of change of times because I was unaware when my uncle was going to come out of hospital. Prior to setting a date the owner was so flexible and accommodating that she made a very stressful time straightforward. I changed my dates for starting care many times due to my uncle's health. The carer that was placed with my uncle was absolutely fantastic, she was caring, thoughtful, understanding and totally looked after my uncle beyond any way I thought possible. 24-hour care throughout. I simply could not have coped without the team, I was in constant chats with the carer as with the owner and was reassured throughout. I simply cannot recommend this team enough. Amazing.

There comes a time in an elderly person's life when they need help way beyond anything a family member can provide. And this was the case with one of my family members. The choice and style of care available online was staggering. Where do you start? In the end, I spoke to 3 companies. They could all provide the level of care required but I was unsure how to proceed. The minute I met the Owner of Amethyst Home Care there was no doubt in my mind that this company, and the carers they employed, were the perfect fit. I cannot tell you what a relief it was to hand the responsibility of a loved relative to a company I could trust, and people I would get to know personally as friends, knowing she was perfectly safe, loved and cared for at all times. I have nothing but praise for their commitment and diligence. Nothing is ever too much trouble. From the early days of intermittent visits to full-time twenty-four-hour care they have never let me, or their client down. Highly recommended.

Having previously employed another agency I switched my now 101-year-old mum's home care to Amethyst Home Care Ltd in Croydon in March 2018. Both my mum and I are very pleased that we did switch. Amethyst is a small independent agency working primarily in the Croydon area with carers who have many years of experience. The level of service has been exceptional and with a strong personal touch. In addition to the regular care required by a bed-bound client, the carers ensure that my mum eats and drinks even on her off days, keep her mentally stimulated with chat and keep a close eye upon her medical condition liaising with the GP where appropriate. I am sure that without this high level of care my mum might not have been with us today. I recommend Amethyst to any of my friends who also have very elderly parents needing home care.
