I wish to pay compliment to live-in carer Monica who has supported family friend in Winslow since Sept.2025. I visit with friend every week and have been very impressed in the high quality level of care and support given. Monica's ease of rapport with people and her wonderful positive and empowering relationship with my friend has shown a marked improvement in the wellbeing of the person, great consideration for cultural preferences and selfless support for my friend's faith and beliefs. Monica has provided key support in major improvement in my friends mobility, in 3 months going from wheelchairbound to independent walking with frame and ease of access into cars. This has enabled my friend to access church and social activities which was in danger of being lost in 2025. With carers getting bad press in recent years it is a pleasure to see Monica be such a fantastic example of a great person-centred carer.
Good afternoon,
Thank you very much for sharing such a thoughtful and detailed compliment.

We have found the Helping Hands team to be super helpful, kind and understanding at all times. They have always made every effort to accommodate our changing requirements. I would not hesitate to recommend them to friends.

Doreen and I would like to express our deep gratitude to our carers, who have been absolutely fantastic in their care of Doreen.
Walter,
Many thanks for taking time to leave us a 5* Review and your very kind words, we really appreciate it.

Additionally, the carers arrival time (supposed to be 13:00) varies quite a lot making my mother feel uncertain if someone is going to show up.
My mother is 95 and gets quite anxious - we had hoped regular and reliable help from a familiar face would make a big difference...but the opposite has been the case.
Your comments regarding the...
Helping Hands have done a wonderful job, always flexible and helpful. Particular thanks to Abi, care coordinator and Stanica and Barbara, carers. The care reports are a valuable resource, enabling us as family to keep up to date and modify care plans if needs be.

They always asked about domestic jobs I needed help with and performed all tasks willingly and efficiently.
I found it helpful to have the support provided by a regular carer so that we built up a relationship. It was also good to have the visit at the same time each day. The administration team was able to change the time slot if I had an appointment necessitating an early visit.
I would happily recommend this service to my friends.
Generally we are very pleased with the overall service Helping Hands provide.
See below comments for consideration.
1/ Having calls completed at agreed times as this does differ from one week to the next and my elderly mother is a creature of habit and would prefer times to be common both Saturday and Sunday.
2/ Keep an eye on food in the fridge best by dates as we continue to have to throw away food that is not being used by the carers.
3/ Washing up and putting away after meals as this is something I have had to do quite often, not all the time but would be helpful.
Many thanks.
The carers are always punctual, professional and have an upbeat attitude. They are willing to do a whole range of jobs, as requested. My daughter has a regular carer, with whom she has built a very good relationship. She looks forward to seeing her and it's lovely to witness the fun and laughter they share. When this carer has not been available (eg due to her annual leave) or we have required extra care, Helping Hands have sent other lovely carers. I would recommend their services without hesitation.
Every carer tries to do there best to encourage her to eat.
They all seem genuinely happy to be there and always greet her in a very upbeat manner.
My brother has had a package of care at home each day. He has Parkinson's and is anxious and depressed. His mobility is impacted.
The managers Had been trying to reach my brother as part of their QA processes and he did not pick up phone and when he finally did sounded distressed and confused. They were concerned for his safety and wellbeing. By now it was beyond the end of the working day and they decided to drive to his house and check how he was. They also reached me (living away) and I was relieved that they did as it was clear that he was not coping and in personal difficulty. . I witnessed on the phone as they talked to reassure him, made food and attended to his personal needs and called an ambulance. On that day I don't know what we would have done without their help. Professional empathic clear on what needed to happen. Thank you to a particular staff member and your manager - you were absolutely brilliant
Helping Hands have been caring for my mother for over a year. They are very professional, polite and nothing is to much trouble. They adjust to changing circumstance's very quickly and without fuss which makes my families life much easier and of course gives us piece of mind that our mother is getting the best care possible. Our mother has dementia so the interaction between the visiting cares and our mother is great which stimulates her brain and hopefully slows this awful disease. Their office / liaison staff are truly fantastic, some of the best I have ever dealt with. Although they are all great I must give a special mention to a specific member of staff who is exceptional. I don't usually do review's of anything but I really did feel in this case I must give credit where credit is due. Thank you all at "Helping Hands" for an excellent service.
I can not recommend Helping Hands highly enough. Without exception the carers have been very kind and attentive. They showed great patience with both my parents. I was impressed with the quality of the relationships they built with my dad and mum. The carers got to know how my parents liked things to be done, their preferences and their funny ways. The carers provided a whole range of care and support. They helped my parents with personal care, jobs around the house, shopping and social trips. Nothing was too much trouble. I have been equally impressed with the office team. They have a great deal of knowledge and experience. There is always someone at the end of the phone to answer questions and/or give reassurance. Thank you to all you.
The office is responsive and replies quickly to any communications.
I would really like the carers to wear a yellow name badge with their first name on it like NHS and other allied health professionals as Dad can't always see their ID badge and he doesn't remember people's names. However, it is important he knows who they are. I've asked for this since we first started using Helping Hands Home Care a few years ago but nothing has changed.
Hi, thank you so much for taking the time to leave us a review! I have raised your feedback with the Area Care Manager and we will do all we can to address this. We really appreciate your feedback. Best wishes.
Nice to have it. Supportive. Get through to the office and talk to them if you want to. Time (hour) goes very quickly. Helps with vegetables. Puts washing on. Makes bed once a week. Little things I can't do. Company as well. They've got to know me.
Helping Hands continues to provide an excellent service caring for our two parents. The live-in carers are fantastic and have built excellent relationships with the family. The relief carers are kind and welcome source of news from the outside world. We continue to recommend Helping Hands to other friends with elderly parents.
Best wishes.
Very good - also those from Poland and Romania. Very good at doing things the way I like. Good company too.
Best wishes.
My Dad has had support from Helping Hands for a year now and I'm so pleased we chose the right care. The carers have all been superb, very polite and friendly. If we ever needed to cancel or move dad's care slot, the staff always get back to us without delay. We're very glad we chose Helping Hands.
Thank you ever so much for leaving this amazing review! I'm delighted to hear how our carers have been so superb and friendly and that your dad is benefitting from our care. It is our absolute pleasure to provide support for your dad, and we can't thank you enough for this kind feedback.
Best wishes.
My Nan initially needed help with preparing meals and generally smaller things. As time went on, she needed more help and Helping Hands Home Care accommodated this superbly. They are not the cheapest around but the extra goes towards their staff (and yep, staff, not agency workers) training/vetting etc. And it showed with their quality and attention to my nan's needs. Although initially resistant, my Nan very much likes her carers from the Aylesbury branch and speaks highly of them. Is this reason I'm writing this review. When I did have an issue one small issue and sent an email I was pleased with the response and felt like it was taken seriously. Can't stress enough that Helping Hands being employers rather than hiring agency workers is the magic.
Thank you ever so much for leaving such a glowing review! I'm thrilled to hear how highly your nan speaks of our carers and that we've been able to support her so superbly. It is our absolute pleasure to provide care for your nan and we're truly grateful for your kind feedback!
Best wishes
Found visit very helpful, friendly, easy to talk to.
Best wishes.
