Just like everyone in this area, it's having issues, however, they are looking for staff robustly.
Today 2 new ladies, absolute perfection , accepted by wife, anytime. Thanks, BGS. Often I have been problematic, but those who know ensure I do as agreed.

This is the second time I have used BGS and now older, more disabled, I found the care from staff varies as do the way care executed. I have found some carers who I feel at ease with when showering as I look like a beached whale. However the issue is within a very disoriented office, no one is responsible
for you to sort out a consistent team of carers, is anyone in the office, access to managers not available.
You can be subjected to times changing, no notice, as are carers. The next day carer's list not sent until early evening thus ensuring payment still due, as 24-hour notice not possible.
Today I called the office and the mind-blowing reaction was just humiliation. Asked why I preferred certain carers, then told I should be grateful as last night carers stopped by after 10pm in own time to care. They are the reason these are requested but now told unavailable. The care service, like the brochure says, is ignored.
The client's needs, their dignity, their existence does not apply.

BGS have looked after my father's very demanding care needs for the last 5 years since he moved into sheltered accommodation. They were the only one out of 14 care providers that I called, that we're willing to take on his needs at the time required.
They have never let us down, even in the worst
weather. Their staff are well trained, professional, friendly, polite and demonstrated sincere interest in his well being, even to the point of joining him and my mother at Coffee Mornings. Their daily visits and conversations became part of my mother's social life.
In the last few weeks, my father had to be moved into full-time care which means that we will no longer need BGS' services. What they did for my father was very demanding both physically and emotionally, requiring retraining in the use of new equipment specific to him and liaising with the NHS to share information when required.
I would not hesitate to recommend them and be used as a reference.

I am extremely disappointed in the care of BGS Healthcare. They do not have scheduled time periods for work, making it very difficult to plan my day or make appointments. The carers have not been properly prepared to deal with my disability and so do not know what their duty is. For example, giving
medicines without knowing I am blind and need assistance to take them. The carers at BGS do not stay the full allocated time period and do things in a rush to get things done and leave especially at bedtime. There seem to be more men carers than women and they fail to understand how to dress a woman, such as putting on a bra properly. BGS has a communication problem with their employees and their clients that needs to be addressed.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
