Divine HomeCare Solutions is a family run Care Company led by Farayi & Milly Gwenzi. They founded Divine in 2013 and bring a wealth of professional management expertise having worked in the NHS for over 10 years. With Mental health and Nursing backgrounds the duty of care is second nature to them, they endeavoured to set up a community-minded service to make a positive difference in peoples’ lives.
Having initially started their careers in the hospitality industry, they were unexpectedly introduced to the world of care. Moreover, having a child with complex needs and through witnessing first-hand the impact of good care on a person’s life (and more so on the family), as such, they consider the industry very emotionally rewarding.
Their motivation, hard work and passion for the organisation has truly taken it from strength to strength since incorporation back in 2013. All our staff are so elated that Farayi and Milly have been recognised and praised for the amazing work they have done in making Divine HomeCare Solutions into what it is today. They are an incredibly humble couple and as much as they would never take the spotlight it must be said that our team would not be where it is today without them.
Kelly and Dorothy are our senior carers. It feels like just yesterday when they started working with us, whereas it has already been an amazing 5-year professional milestone. It’s tough to stay put in the same place for a very long time. However, maybe the word “Tough” wasn’t in their dictionary and they have sailed together with us through all the harsh and good times, constantly showcasing the multitude of ways DHCS is changing the #proudtocare narrative.
"Having been part of the furniture at Divine, embarking on the journey right from its humble beginnings, it fills us with great pride to have been involved in its growth over the years. Staying in a position within social care is never easy but we are truly grateful to have had the opportunity to challenge ourselves and expand our knowledge in the domiciliary care sector. It is extremely gratifying to feel that we have developed both professionally and personally in tandem with the business. To embark on a career that centres on making a positive, visible difference in our service users’ lives are both rewarding and a genuine privilege.
I’m Juana, a Waking Nights support worker at Divine HomeCare Solutions where I’ve been part of the family since January.
I used to think ‘CARE’ was just a fancy word for another dead-end job but having been here I’ve realised it’s more than just a job.
As a care assistant, I get to make a real difference to the lives of vulnerable people in my local area, giving them the support, they need to live independently in their own homes.
Real qualifications
Contrary to popular belief, I didn’t need to be fully qualified to get a job here. I started my care journey in Greece and Divine is currently supporting me with the training I need to become an exceptional caring champion who is popular with most service users due to my bubbly personality. I am currently working on my NVQ 2 with @divinehcs. hopefully, I will complete my care certificate in the not-too-distant future.
Flexibility
Of course, it’s not always rosy there are trying times when you have challenges especially in this pandemic & (closer to home” pingdemic”). Social care is not a standard 9-to-5 job, but rather the flexibility of shift patterns means that I can fit my career around my other commitments.
Variety
One of the biggest benefits of working in care is diversity.
I'm constantly introduced to new environments, meeting new people, and doing different tasks as part of my day-to-day endeavours. There really isn’t ever a quiet or dull moment.
Rewarding
Personally, the most important benefit of my career in care is how fulfilling it is. Every day, I wake up knowing I am helping someone in need and making their lives that little bit easier. And knowing that I make a difference to their day provides a real sense of achievement.
Additionally, I get to build real relationships with clients, not to mention their family and friends. And that personal connection is what makes care work so unique.
I have loved working with @divinehcs over the past year. I wasn’t just shadowing or doing jobs nobody wanted to do, I was producing work, helping others with theirs and being a genuine hero to our people. On my first day, Daisie asked what I wanted to gain from my time here, and I just said experience but I’m grateful to say I’ve walked away with so much more.
We've received some heartfelt words of appreciation for our incredible carer, Trish, and we couldn't be prouder! ?? Here's a snippet of the glowing feedback:
"I would like Trish to stay with me for another week, if that is possible with you, at such short notice. Trish is a superb carer and I feel like we have only just started to get to know each other well. It would be very beneficial for me if we could get to spend some more time together as I missed out on the first 3-4 days. I feel that this period of time, especially when you have only just initially met a new carer, is a very important part of building up rapport.
I have spent quality time getting to know someone who has similar interests as me. It’s fantastic to have someone like Trish, who has amazing companionship skills and qualities. She is very outgoing, bubbly, and very easy to talk to, and she possesses exceptional listening skills too??.
Her fresh cooking is absolutely delicious??, and she definitely makes sure that I get all the vital nutrients that I need??, which is very important, especially when you only have half a bowel. When I was taken poorly, very suddenly, she acted very professionally with both my GP, the emergency services, as well as the hospital staff. I was looked after exceptionally by my carer and couldn’t have been in better hands!"
A heartfelt shoutout to our amazing carer, Trish, who has been nothing short of exceptional in her dedication and care! ??
