The care provided for my Mother has been outstanding. The most important aspect is paying attention to the smaller details, which may not seem important, but can make Mum's day to day living more comfortable. Such as offering to change her hearing aid batteries if she can't hear what they are saying or talking loudly. Just noticing things that need to be done without being told or instructed. All these sorts of things make a big difference. If you know the carer pays attention to the small stuff, you know the basics are being done right.
Thank you for leaving us such a lovely review, we really appreciate it. We are thrilled to hear that the care the team have provided outstanding care for your Mother and they pay attention to the smaller details and notice things that need to be done with out being instructed, which make Mum's day to day living more comfortable. We will be sure to pass on your feedback to the team.Kindest regards
The care my mum received from Helping Hands, Godalming was first class. They cared for her for five years until she passed away in January 2025. The individual carers were reliable and many built up a friendship with mum which was a comfort to her and to myself. As her health deteriorated we received regular updates which we were then able to follow up and get extra assistance if needed.
My mother was in hospital desperate to come home, we were recommended 3 companies, the first one didn't answer the phone, the second didn't phone back, then we called Helping Hands and spoke to the branch manager, who must have heard the desperation in my voice, she came to the hospital that afternoon to do an assessment and then came to the house. Mum was home the next day. She listened to mums wishes and she paired her with some wonderful carers, they brighten up mum's day and she loves telling us all about it when we visit. As a family, we cannot tell what a difference it's made to mum and to us.
I am extremely happy with the carers and service I receive. The carers do lots of little things they don't need to.
Great quality carers have looked after my dad, working hard to support his needs and make sure his day-to-day care is sorted.
Their care went beyond the normal I would expect with a very personal interaction from all staff involved. There was a genuine connection which helped my Father in Law in his last months with us and nothing was too much trouble.
Thank you so much for leaving such a glowing review! I'm delighted to hear of the genuine connection between our carers and your father-in-law, and I'll be sure to pass on the wonderful feedback to the team. Your kind words are very much appreciated.
Best wishes
The carer who does visit us is excellent and absolutely the right person to provide the security and help that my wife requires. They get on really well together. However, on the one occasion that this carer wasn't available, the system did falter a bit because the replacement sent that day was totally unsuitable and left my wife quite unhappy.
Regarding administration, since the recent changes to your procedures, there is a lot of duplication of information eg: more than one email arrives notifying the hours for the forthcoming week and we get both email and paper invoices monthly. Pruning these would save you time and costs.
Thank you very much for taking the time to leave us a review. We really appreciate your feedback and we are sorry that your wife was unhappy in this instance. On the rare occasion, we do have a staff absence, we will always cover care calls so that our customers are still supported in their own...
Helping Hands Home Care (Godalming) branch have been supporting my mum with companionship, mobility and personal care for over a year. I have felt that managers have listened to any concerns about my mum's particular care and support needs and responded to this. Having a regular consistent carer has helped my mum build a positive relationship when she had initially been reluctant to have a visiting carer, and she now looks forward to the visits. In January when I was unable to visit my mum, they were very helpful in arranging extra care visits at short notice and kept me up to date with arrangements. Previously Helping Hands Home Care (Godalming) provided personal care support to my father which he had really appreciated and built good relationships with his visiting carers who were always very cheerful and friendly.
Thank you so much for leaving such an amazing review! It is our absolute pleasure to provide care for both your mum and dad, and we're so pleased to hear that your mum built a positive relationship with one of our carers. We really do appreciate your kind words.
We started to use this service to allow me to go out occasionally. The carers came in to get my wife up, dressed and breakfasted in the morning and returned to give her some lunch. The care and companionship was exemplary. When we were caring for her full time, they provided an invaluable break which enabled us to recharge our batteries. The carers were unfailingly cheerful and friendly and the arrival was always with joy and a smile!
The staff are helpful and pleasant and will go the extra mile and more. I have no real knowledge of the management.
The staff are always very caring and extremely professional.
My mother and I were delighted with both the nurses and the management team from Helping Hands. They were so very kind and understanding and went out of their way to put things into place to help. I was even able to call them long distance, at the weekend, for advice about calling out an ambulance. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
They were all kind, friendly and efficient. Attended promptly and offered additional help if I wanted. I have nothing but praise for them all. My original booking had got muddled the staff went out of their way to sort the problem and begin care as requested.

Hi, I’m Michelle. I am an experienced care manager and director with over 22 years’ experience in the care profession. In my spare time, I love to travel overseas, go for long walks with my dog, dining out & cook. I enjoy entertaining & event organising and spending time with my grandchildren.
I continuously do my best to promote a caring environment, through high standards of professional practice, which are conducive to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of customers. I ensure that each customer receives the right level of care which is appropriate to their individual needs.
I have also gained a wealth of qualifications, including NVQ Level 3 and 4 in Health and Social Care, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults & Children, Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguarding, and Health & Safety.
I joined Helping Hands because of the whole ethos of the company; it’s a family-run business which has a real passion and drive to provide a high level of care to private customers. This was appealing to me because I had experience working with local authorities where cutting costs rather than providing a quality service was an unfortunate result of the situation and why I now work for a business committed to providing a quality service above all else.
