My daughter has recently been going through a mental health crisis, the team at Helping hands Horley have been extremely helpful and supportive being instrumental in getting her the help she needed from the NHS even when the NHS were quite reluctant to give it. It is very reassuring for me to know that my daughter's care is in such good hands.
Thank you so much for sharing your experience. We're truly glad to hear that our Horley team was able to support your daughter during such a difficult time and help ensure she received the care she needed. It means a lot to us to know that you feel reassured and confident in the hands...
I urgently needed to put some care in place for my Stepmother, and the Team at Helping Hands were brilliant and sorted it out the same day. They came round to my Stepmother's house within an hour to do an assessment, and a preliminary care package was sorted out. I was extremely impressed with the service and their kindness and professional attitude. Once the care has begun, I will write another review about the service itself.
It is amazing to hear that when you needed urgent support for your Stepmother, Helping Hands were brilliant and sorted out care the same day and were able to come and do an assessment within an hour.

As the recipient of their care I appreciate the positive and friendly attitude of all the carers and attention to detail is always excellent , which makes the caring less intrusive for the household. Everything they can possibly do on each visit they do.

I have now used Hayley and her team for two family members, my father and more recently my wife. Both with very different care needs. Both were treated with dignity, professionalism and kindness from the initial assessment and throughout all the care visits. I would highly recommend Helping Hands Horley!

We are very pleased to hear after using Helping Hands twice for two of your family members, the team were professional and kind from the initial assessment and throughout all the care visits, and the carers...
My mother is 103 years old and still lives alone but requires us to attend her daily to assist her as she has mobility issues and poor eyesight, so when we took a respite break for a week we turned to helping hands to support and care for her while we were away. I cannot speak more highly of the support and care that she was given, going being what we expected to ensure she was well looked after. While we were away we had access to an online portal where we could read a daily care report, this gave us the confidence to know that all her needs had been attended to and certainly made our holiday more relaxing. We will not hesitate to use their service again in the future.
Derek, Thank you for taking the time to leave is such a lovely review, we really appreciate it.We are thrilled to hear that after using Helping Hand to have a weeks respite, you can not speak more highly of the support your Mum was given. It is also great to know that being able to access the online...
Helping hands have been coming to me once a week to take me out to get my confidence back & be back in the community which two particular staff members has done I trust one of them 100% I am extremely very slow in walking due to the pain I am in she is very patient but we also have fun when out if I'm able to go out she will do things around the flat that I struggle with when we go out & the place has a wheelchair use that which enables me to look around the shop as can't go anywhere if lots of walking I am so happy I choose helping hands it's changed my life for the better as before I became isolated & house bound so so thank you
The Carers offer good flexibility in terms of tasks to be undertaken, useful as needs and capabilities of Mum have changed over time. We have been offered extra assistance to deal with medical conditions and appointments. Mum has her favourites who get to know her well, and sometimes needs a little time to introduce new carers to her special ways - I think this is healthy as sometimes carers move on or need to take care of their own families, so she can be less dependent on individual carers. She probably won't thank me for saying that. Mum has recently resumed use of her hearing aids - they are a challenge for her to fit and remove/turning off batteries . Some carers are more adept than others - this week I found the battery compartment on both sides were left open - so not effective - maybe some training for consistency might be a benefit. In general I find the carers and supervisors are willing to go beyond expectations and are keen to ensure Mum is taken care of
Helping Hands always show kindness, care and support to my father especially if he has needed extra help at times. All the carers are friendly and approachable and have a good rapport with my father and make sure he is comfortable and they help with daily tasks. Thank you Helping Hands.
Nothing is too much trouble for the office staff. They are friendly and prompt in answering he phone and flexible with our requirements, especially at short notice, when we may need some additional care.
From the very start the team at Horley have been fantastic, they take so much of the pressure of us as a family allowing me to be a son rather than a carer. And Mum loves the girls!! I couldn't recommend this team enough for anyone who is struggling to look after a family member.
Required additional support at fairly short notice as I was unable to continue to care for my wife for medical reasons. Additional care was immediately made available from helping hands to fit in perfectly with our requirements. Very professional and understanding management.
They have always reported any concerns with dad to myself. It's really reassuring to know, that they all take the Care of my Dad seriously. His Carer's are all wonderful ladies. We and dad, are particularly grateful to two members of staff who reported their concerns relating to dad's medication, and also made us aware of a report made by dad, of a visitor to his house in the middle of night.
The compassion and patience they show is outstanding. It was such a relief to find the right help for mum and to be able to trust them completely.
I couldn't recommend them enough.
I'm so pleased I chose them.
It's so lovely having the help, and in the evening helped into my nightdress, and put to bed.
Helping Hands are so perfect, the staff are second to none.
Thank you for everything you do, a very Happy customer indeed!

I cannot speak more highly of the whole team!
I cannot speak more highly of both the service provided by the carers and the management team (in particular Hayley). A very caring and well managed company. When my Mother was admitted to hospital they sent her a beautiful bunch of flowers. Very highly recommended.
Overall good service, always there is needed.

About me
I am the branch manager here at Helping Hands Horley; I am the face behind the scenes. I oversee the running of the branch and ensure the safety of our customers and carers during the visiting hours we provide. I complete assessments and care reviews as well as completing care calls myself so I can stay in the loop of the staff's day-to-day work.
I joined care when I was 15 years old in a residential home, doing some cleaning and preparing drinks for the residents we cared for. I worked my way up to a carer, then senior carer, and on to management. I have also worked at the local hospice to support people at the end of their life.
I have 2 children who I love spending time with on our days out. I also have a rescue dog who is now 7 years of age and we love walking in the woods.
Experience and expertise
I completed my advanced apprenticeship in health and social care level 3 in 2012 and I am currently completing my Level 5 in management.
I started in care when I was 15 years old, which is now 19 years ago. I have been a senior carer running the day-to-day shifts in a care home, and I have been a nursing assistant supporting the palliative care nurses with medication and end-of-life care. I have completed catheter care and insertion training, and have training in wound management and phlebotomy.
Why I chose Helping Hands
I always look to ensure we are giving the best possible care we can. If there are any concerns the carers have about the customers they always ring it into the office and we act immediately. I always ensure we use the same regular carers for our customers and ensure our compliance is up to date.
I love being able to ensure people are remaining at home for any care they require. It can be very upsetting for the customers and their loved ones should they need to go into a care home, but we enable customers to remain in their own homes with familiar surroundings and to be with their loved ones.
