Since losing much of my mobility due to a number of fractures, I have relied on Fourways Community Care to carry out both personal and domestic tasks for me over nearly three years. Every carer has proved to be kind, understanding, competent, quick - and professional in every way. Nothing is too much
trouble for them and they all seem happy in their caring role. Without them, I probably wouldn't be able to continue living in my own home because there is so much now that I can no longer do myself. I am truly grateful not only to the carers themselves but also to the management for their flexible attitude and the way they handle what must be a very demanding schedule.
I did engage carers for my late husband some time ago, but the service Fourways provides for people in their own homes is in a completely different league: it is second to none and I would recommend it to anyone.

Fourways provide me with a Carer who takes my mother out once a week from another care home as the Care Home she is in does not have enough staff to provide this activity.
The Carer, Karla, takes Mum out for coffee and into the local park. My Mum gets a lot of enjoyment from this and Karla really
understands my Mum. My Mum always talks fondly of her and looks forward to her outings.

The Fourways team have been amazing, my father usually has care each day so that he can continue to live at home with my elderly mother. The dignity and standard of care is first class, having worked myself at a senior level within the NHS I am fully aware of standards, dignity and good leadership
which is reflected in this team and I was aware at how much my very proud elderly father valued their assistance. However on Christmas morning my mother fell and was taken into hospital, I had to step in and could not have coped without this wonderful group of ladies. To see the interaction, kindness, professionalism was heart warming particularly in this difficult situation. So my deepest gratitude to all the team. Thank you .

Fourways have been looking after my aunt at home for a year or so but in December she had a number of falls and the team were wonderful in dealing with her, dealing with the paramedics, staying with her throughout, and keeping me informed (I live a very long way away). I am very grateful.

The team at Fourways Community Care have looked after both my father, who required a lot of help physically, and my mother, who had moderate dementia.
I found the whole team, without exception, to be very professional, helpful, considerate and understanding of the issues within the household.
I was
always kept informed of developments and any issues developing that needed my attention. I felt that the team went above and beyond when working with my mother. In doing so, my mother had a better time and started to enjoy things she hadnt been able to do for years.
From a family perspective, it meant I could relax knowing they were in good hands.

The team have always been very good and reliable when caring for my Uncle. Passing information on when needed. I live around 200 away from my Uncle. When my Uncle had not returned home, they were on the phone straight away so that I could chase round to find him. Also putting an putting a message to
all their employees to keep an eye out for him. Julie

Very versatile to what job's they undertake. Main reason for help is give me a rest, allow me to have a little time to myself and not to worry. It also allows Yvonne to see and talk to other people who are understanding.

I have been completely satisfied with the help provided to me by Fourways. The staff are efficient and always very pleasant when dealing with me and any requests I may have.
I have had no difficulty in contacting the office staff if adjustments have had to be made to the scheduled times/dates of
the care provided, and the outcomes have invariably been satisfactory.
I would certainly recommend Fourways to other potential clients.

The Carers are attentive and caring. They make sure they follow the care plan. This is documented on a system app and I like that family can check how visits have gone. Timings are a little ad hoc sometimes due to being delayed by previous client calls.
Carers have always been polite when they have
called when I have been there.

  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 14 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.926 for Fourways Community Care is calculated as follows: ( (76 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 81 Ratings = 4.926
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.5 Points for the second and third Positive Reviews, 0.25 Points for each of the next two Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.05, 7th = 0.05, 8th = 0.05, 9th = 0.05, 10th = 0.05, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Fourways Community Care is based on 14 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4.85
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

I was born in Burnley, Lancashire. I left school in 1978 and started working at Grenfell, a clothing factory making raincoats. I loved sewing and still do; however, I gave up work to start a family. Later in life, I decided I would like to work in the care sector.

I got a job in a nursing home in Burnley. I loved it, working the night duties, I stayed until my husband and I decided to move to Devon in 1997. I had various jobs in nursing and residential homes, and also worked with young adults with physical and sensory disabilities. I enjoyed that role as it was so rewarding. I started domiciliary care in 2000 and really enjoyed assisting clients in their own homes to maintain their independence. I used to do on - call duties at weekends and did that for three years. I left that role in 2010 as I moved house and didn’t want to travel a distance to work. I joined Fourways Community Care later in 2010 and have worked for them for 15 years. I have, however, moved house again, so I have a distance to drive, but I won’t be changing my job again as I am happy at Fourways and am proud to say I’m a member of a great team. I don’t really have any goals as I am happy with what I have achieved in my 30 years as a carer.

I've been working in the care sector for the majority of my professional life, throughout various settings from the NHS, to EMI units, care homes and the community.

For the last 8 + years, I've been with Fourways Community Care as a community support worker, which I absolutely love for many reasons, including that the team here is known as 'The Little Blue Army '

Working in the community, caring for those who wish to remain in their homes, is personally such a rewarding role. Retaining independence is important to all of our clients, and I feel passionate about supporting them in this with the kindness, dignity and respect I would give my own family.

To me, family is precious. I consider it a true privilege to be in the position to care for someone else's loved one.

Care work is what I naturally gravitate towards. Over the years, I've had opportunities to volunteer, and I've found myself aiding the community. From running a creche in HM Exeter Prison to working with the Coroners' court support service team.

My training is up to date and ongoing.

A little about me, I'm married with 4 adult children, 8 wonderful grandchildren, I'm an avid reader, I love to cook while listening to music, enjoy walks in our beautiful countryside, and like travelling around the world in between.

My initials are HRH, which my clients often find amusing! I tell them it makes my luggage look good....
