Our service users pay for their care and support in many different ways. You may benefit from Local Authority funding depending on your circumstances, or you may need, or wish to pay for the care and support yourself.

Many of our service users do both; they receive local authority funded support and ‘top up’ the support they receive by paying for the little extra things themselves that their Local Authority does not provide, yet these extra things can greatly enhance quality of life.

You may wish to spread the cost amongst the family, with siblings for example – in this case, we are able to ‘split the bill’ between family members to make things easier.

Some of our privately paying customers who are over 65, claim Attendance Allowance which is non-means tested and can be used to pay for home care.

Your local team can offer guidance about your funding options as well as local information about your Local Authority.
We will provide a free, no obligation assessment. Our prices include:

Delivery of all specified and agreed services within your support plan
Direct line local office contact and support
Individualised support plan
Fully trained and enhanced CRB checked support teams

I would highly recommend Chelmscare as a stay at home care provider. My father has had 4 carers a day since February 2024 and the care he has received has meant he has been able to stay in his own home. The carers and supervisors listen to and adhere to his needs. One of the supervisors meets with him
regularly to ensure his needs haven't changed. Any minor problems have been dealt with promptly and efficiently. During recent hospital stays the communication between Chelmscare and myself and Chelmscare and the hospital have been excellent.

On the whole management and caregivers are efficient, caring and considerate of clients and family.
A number of staff go above and beyond, in order to ensure my mother and myself are left content before they leave.
The majority of staff and management are supportive and proactive when situations
or concerns arise.

We are new to Chelmscare, however, after nearly two weeks, we have found they are an efficient and well-organised company. The carers look after my partner and visit three times a day. Each carer has shown respect to my partner and our home and provided an excellent level of care to meet his needs.
The office staff keep us fully informed and accommodate our requests quickly.

The Chelmscare staff were so much more than my mum's agency carers - they were the people I could turn to for advice and support. My mum loved them, and they were my lifeline. They treated Mum with the respect she deserved and always with a smile - even in the worst of situations.

I am really grateful for the care given to my mother and appreciate how responsive you are when I call the office. It has given me peace of mind knowing that you are taking care of her on a daily basis. I do believe the care and company provided are very helpful for her dementia and break up a long,
lonely day. Some of the carers have become friends who she looks forward to seeing. Thank you to all at Chelmscare.

I found Chelmscare staff to be caring and supportive to the client but also to their family. They communicate with the client and also keep the family well informed. I found it a working relationship with all staff, whether it be office or carers. The carers who looked after my mother went out of their
way to keep her comfortable, well cared for and happy. I cannot thank them enough for all that they did for her.

What a great team they are at Chelsmscare Borehamwood. From the office to the hands-on carers. All helpful, caring and friendly. They looked after my mum and dad fantastically, going over and above what they needed to do. Both my parents looked forward to them coming in to see them. When Mum and Dad
were ill they were so caring, communicating with the family and waiting with them until we got there. Always so caring, I would highly recommend Chelmscare to anyone looking for carers for their family.

Thank you to the whole team for your support with my father-in-law. Unfortunately, he passed away on 8th January 2022 but we could not have looked after him, especially recently, without the help of the carers on a daily basis. The carers were invaluable to us from the moment they started, treating
my father-in-law with compassion and respect no matter how challenging he could be sometimes. Their positive attitude and sense of humour helped keep us all going, especially during difficult times and, most importantly, they helped us recognise when things were not right so that we could get medical help.
Both carers were amazing, however, everyone else that attended with them were equally as good and we are grateful to them all. For you all it is part and parcel of the job you do and it's easy to underestimate the difference it makes to people's lives. You have all made a huge impact on our lives and been there when we most needed it and I am sure you will carry on making a difference.

Always very helpful and nothing too much trouble, they always turned up on time and went above and beyond sometimes which, as I live far away, was peace of mind for me and my wife. They would take my brother-in-law shopping and get him out of the house and kept us updated, sometimes in their own time.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
