The care we receive is adequate. I spend a lot of my time ensuring that practical tasks are completed properly and there is at times a huge discrepancy between what is asked and what is delivered . I am unsure where the fault lies . I do feel that some carers lack the life skills that are needed when dealing with loved ones
Good afternoon,
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we really do appreciate it.
We appreciate your honest feedback. While we are pleased that the care provided has been adequate overall, we are sorry to hear that there have been occasions where the service delivered has not...
I have been using helping hands since 5 July 2022. First for my husband who had Lewy Body Dementia. Firstly for social care taking him out but as it grew steadily worse his carer took over some of his bodily care. She is a wonderful person who could get him to do things I couldn't and I learned a lot from her. We then needed helping getting him up in the mornings.A team was got together so that it was the same people coming in who he got to know. They were all really kind and thoughtful. I also had experience of 24 hour care again a really good experience. My husband died September 2025. I received from them kindness and understanding. His first carer now comes 2 mornings a week to care for me. Helps me around the house or takes me out. I can't tell you how absolutely brilliant my whole experience has been. Thank you Helping Hands

The care providers/office team have today gone above and beyond care for our mother. My sister and I live 120 and 230 miles away respectively from our mother. But the team stepped in and dealt with getting someone to mums home and an ambulance very quickly after mum having a fall. We were kept updated which was a great relief to us both. Thank you to everyone involved.

We are delighted to hear how the care providers and office team were able to step in so quickly and support your mother following her fall. We completely understand how difficult it can be when you...
Had the need to call for help as my mother had had a fall and couldn't ring anyone. I live just over 250 miles away as does my sister. Mum is elderly and had taken a fall. The team were able to go straight out to her arriving approx 20/30 mins after my call and an ambulance was at the scene too. Mum got taken into hospital and a carer kindly went with her as she has trouble hearing and they were able to keep us up to date with her progress. Don't know what we would have done without the rapid response mum received today. We cannot thank everyone involved enough. We are so grateful for your help and daily support for mum. Thank you all so so much.
Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review, we really do appreciate it. We are so pleased that the team could respond so quickly during such a worrying situation and provide both immediate support and reassurance for your mum. It is wonderful to hear that a carer was able to...
Efficient and professional service with live in care initially provided at very short notice. Some minor issues with different individual carers but these have all been managed effectively to our complete satisfaction. I would feel confident in recommending Helping Hands to a friend.
Many thanks for taking the time to leave review and kind recommendation. We are pleased to learn you minor issues were managed effectively and you are completely satisfied with the support provided.
With kindest regards
Sue
Overall the experience/care we have had for my father over the last 2 years has been good. We have had a couple of bad experiences with carers in that time which has been dealt with straight away.
Very professional. Listened to all our questions and concerns. Always has a chat to dad upon arrival (dad has Alzheimer's so not too chatty). Gave us all necessary paperwork, new terms and conditions etc. and went through it all. Also checked medication lists and took evidence. went through any problems with rota's which we had a huge concern with but I felt I had left it in capable hands to get sorted. Always friendly and helpful.
The care service provided by Helping Hands Home Care (Cambridge) is excellent. My mother has had daily home care for two years now, initially, it was just one visit but as her mental state has sadly declined it is more. The carers are very good with her and fully understand her need. She really can't do anything for herself. I cannot recommend them highly enough and believe this type of care is the way forward as it allows someone to stay in their own home in an environment they know and get better care.
Best wishes.
In a difficult year, due mainly to Covid cases in carers families or contacts, most carers have coped very well. Often office workers had to mobilise to replace visiting carers, but when clients were warned of the changes by telephone, the longer waits for attention were less worrying.
Best wishes.
