I contacted Emma at Able Care Huddersfield Ltd when my 94 year old Dad was in the frailty ward at the hospital for the second time - this was the day before he was discharged so we were up against it timewise, having cared for him prior to that ourselves at home. I wanted a local company but was concerned that they would struggle to assist in time. I needn't have worried - Emma visited us at home next day to assess and within a day or so we had carers morning & evening, then eventually 3 times a day. You won't get a better service - professional, reactive, punctual, empathetic and with a lovely personable approach that made it as easy for Dad as they could. In addition, the carers offered guidance as to when district nursing input was needed and Emma offered guidance re palliative care and occupational therapy requirements which we were able to pursue. Emma has worked in the NHS and knows the processes so all in all she and her team offer an excellent service......and at very reasonable rates.
The staff are very caring and understanding and have helped me through one of the most difficult times I have ever been through.
With all this support they have helped and encouraged me to get to the point where I am able to do things independently and have the ability to get back to work, Without this, I don't think I would be in the position I am in now and I just want to give a massive thank you to everyone that helped me along the way.
My wife has needed care for over 15 years. During this period we have employed several different care companies and have been very disappointed by the service we have received - too many different carers, rushed calls, lack of punctuality. All of this has changed since we employed Able Care (Huddersfield) in November 2023. For the last year, we have needed three doubled-up calls each day and have had just the same eight carers over this period. This has allowed us to develop a strong and caring relationship with Able Care staff that includes a lot of humour as well as excellent support. The calls never seem rushed and the staff are willing to be flexible in terms of what they do during a call. With all other companies, I used to check the rota to see who was coming and when. These days I do not check the rota because I am confident that we will know whoever is scheduled for the call and that they will do an excellent job.
We as a family would definitely recommend Able Care. The staff are all professionally trained and they are all lovely caring people, and good at what they do, they take good care of mum. They go above and beyond their job. The management are very professional and are happy to help in any way they can. Mum gets on with all the staff and appreciates all they do for her.
I must say from day one it's gone really well, my husband has received continuity care due to the regular staff coming in he's building friendships with us, the staff show him respect, dignity, kindness, he now looks forward to the visits, am so happy watching my husband laugh and chat to and interact with everyone, as for me it has given me the support I needed, if I have any problems I can ring the manager and she will do her best to help and support us and I wish we had got support sooner. Thank you to the manager and your team for your support and kindness you all have shown me and my husband.
The manager went beyond expectations during our brief need for her service. She responded immediately to my phone calls and met with us quickly to set up a care package for my mum on her discharge from hospital, showing huge flexibility as this was not a straightforward process. She personally made the first two visits which was very reassuring for us as we knew Mum was in good hands. Sadly, Mum quickly returned to hospital, so we didn’t experience Able Care’s services for long but the service we did receive was exemplary. The manager showed warmth, compassion and care and clearly has a deep understanding of the complex needs of families at what is often a difficult time. I would wholeheartedly recommend Able Care.
The administration of Mum’s care was carried out efficiently and in a very friendly manner.
I felt the service was good value for money but I have not done a comparison in this category with other care providers, so have provided the rating “don’t know”. I do know that all efforts have been made to keep the costs as low as possible. Thank you.
Couldn't be happier with the care my father received from Able Care Huddersfield. The professional, fully trained staff are very pleasant and go above and beyond. Their dedication and support have been fantastic and have made a massive difference to the happiness and wellbeing of my father. They show my father respect and ensure he is part of informing the way he is looked after. The team also supports my mother and myself. Would fully recommend this company without hesitation.
Able Care are kind, knowledgeable, and very caring. The staff are lovely and really look after my mum; they treat her with respect and dignity at all times. All members of the team including the admin staff are eager to help and have a great depth of knowledge to help make my mum's life easier and to help her retain some level of independence.
The manager and her team have been and are amazing. I honestly can’t thank them enough for all the support towards my grandparents and also our family. My grandad recently got admitted to hospital, when he returned home he was unable to manage and his discharge failed and he went back to hospital. It was very stressful as the hospital wanted to send him home again the following day to the same situation he had been re-admitted for. At the time the manager was on her weekend off but still she was always at the end of the phone to help provide support and liaised with ourselves and the hospital staff to enable the safe discharge home of my grandad. Would highly recommend the manager and her team. They really are brilliant and don’t get enough credit for what they do. My grandma and grandad are now back together with the continued support of the manager and her team. Thank you so much to all at Able Care.
I can't thank the manager and her team enough. The care, compassion and professionalism shown every day to my mother has made an extremely difficult situation tolerable. So pleased we found Able Care, the carers smiling faces cheer mum up every visit.
12 months ago next week, we began using the services of Able Care. At first, my husband's needs were for 2 carers once a day. Due to the increased severity of his health condition and his increasingly complex needs, this has now risen to 2 carers 3 times a day and of a longer duration. At no point, have the carers been anything but helpful, personable and extremely professional while maintaining a light-hearted attitude to deliver a superb care provision. The year has, from time to time, been difficult for me as a loving, caring wife to hand over care to others. Throughout, my views and feelings along with the best options for my husband's best interests have been paramount. At the outset, we asked for continuous care at home, including palliative care when required. I am proud to say this is being done to a very highest standard. Thank you Able Care.
It has been very easy to communicate with Able Care and any minor issues have been quickly and positively resolved.
I would thoroughly recommend Able Care. All the staff were polite, trustworthy and extremely caring.
I am the only close family relative to my sister but I live 2.5 hours drive from her so when she needed assistance to continue living independently it was necessary to recruit help. After researching options we approached Able Care Huddersfield Ltd who immediately stepped up to the mark. From the start, they have been assiduous with their endeavours and open to adjustments to the provision of care requested. When we started on this journey none of us realised what was around the corner. The Coronavirus has made caring for elderly and frail people much harder and complex. Since lockdown restrictions started Able Care have continued to provide reliable service with added kindness and importantly much-valued social contact. This has added another level of gratitude. My sister is very pleased with all the care provided and I value highly the assurance that it gives me knowing that she is content, well looked after and additionally that I have an independent point of contact.
We approached several providers to provide care for my mother-in-law. Able Care stood out head and shoulders above all providers. They were caring, considerate and above all treated my mother-in-law with respect and dignity. It has been a significant comfort to myself and my husband to know that our loved one is in safe caring hands. I have no hesitation in recommending them.
