Sorry to learn that this is your view of the support provided to your mother. Throughout our involvement, we worked closely with you, your mum, Social Work and other professionals to address the challenges associated with this care package. This was a complex arrangement involving brief visits and limited engagement from your mum, which made achieving agreed outcomes difficult. These challenges were identified early, regularly discussed and never hidden from those involved. We repeatedly raised concerns with the local authority regarding the package's suitability and effectiveness. Prior to the Care Inspectorate investigation, both Care1 and you had requested that the package change provider. It is therefore inaccurate to suggest the local authority's recommissioning of care resulted solely from the complaint. The Care Inspectorate findings relate specifically to this case and not our wider service, which continues to achieve positive gradings and deliver person-centred care. Read less

We are sorry to learn that this is how you feel despite being listened to and requests/concerns addressed. Set visit times were in place though you advised staff that you were not particular about your visit times. Staff are trained to maintain good friendly working relationships with service users but cannot befriend them on a personal level. These are professional guidelines across the Health and Social Care sector to prevent abuse. Hence we reminded ex-members of staff of the above and requested them not to sit in your property when our care staff are attending to you. Male/female staffing arrangements were agreed at the beginning of the service. We endeavoured to often provide a female staff and regular staff wherever possible. However, staff rotations are necessary for staff learning and development and for promoting healthy professional relationships to avoid situations of over-familiarity to the detriment of the service.
