Overall Experience

I want to applaud Derek and his team at Sunday Care Therapy for what was a compassionate and supportive experience when my step-mum needed a serious amount of care. Whilst the company is there to make money ultimately this is not what drives Derek. And we have had our fingers badly burned by so many different companies since my step-mum started to need care. So, it was refreshing that Derek and his team didn't just talk the talk, but they walked the walk as well. It is a stressful time seeing your loved one disappear before your eyes and Sunday Care Therapy get this and support you in whatever way you need, whether it's just a chat over a cup of tea, a chance to vent. The situation was constantly changing and so new plans kept on having to be made and Derek and his team were always up to the challenge. Derek is uniquely an experienced Occupational Therapist and so he "knows the ropes", and provides clear and supportive advice. So, it is with great pleasure I give this review

Overall Experience

After my elderly father had spent a few months in hospital, I needed to secure live-in care to look after him at home. Sunday Care Therapy provided a detailed analysis of his needs and wishes and quickly arranged for a live in carer to support him, as well as also providing weekly physio sessions to improve his mobility. Everyone on the team from the manger, office staff and carer have been amazing. Their compassionate care and patience with my father has been outstanding. They also ensured that I had access to information and provided regular contact with myself. Having previously experienced the care provider recommended by the local NHS trust, Sunday Care Therapy have provided a far higher level of service and value for money.

Overall Experience

Sunday Care Therapy has been excellent support through my husband's Young Onset Dementia. The manager is knowledgeable and innovative and has given us expert advice both in relation to behaviour and possible extra support. The agency has been flexible during emergencies and provided extra support when I have needed to go away.

Reply from Jessica Barlow, Director at Sunday Care Therapy

Thank you for your kind words, Katharine. We believe in going above and beyond for our clients and providing extra support and guidance - this is part of our bread and butter service. It has been an absolute pleasure supporting you and your husband.

Overall Experience

I have a carer from Sunday Care Therapy some mornings, and the codirectors support me as needed to attend appointments and events etc. The agency directors and staff are all professional, reliable, supportive and caring. They are all really helpful and flexible. I also get useful clinical support, eg blood pressure measurements and exercise advice. Brilliant care and social support.

Reply from Jessica Barlow, Director at Sunday Care Therapy

Thank you, Cordelia, for your kind review. It's been an absolute pleasure working with and getting to know you over the past 10 months. We're particularly proud that we got you back out into the community safely after the Covid lockdown with our trips to art galleries and to the local Waitrose! We look forward to continuing to achieve your goals together.

I’m Derek Sleater, Founder of Sunday Care Therapy and a passionate Occupational Therapist dedicated to helping people live safer, happier, and more independent lives. I believe great care should always feel personal, empowering, and full of compassion — never cold or clinical.

Throughout my career, I’ve focused on creating care services that genuinely make a difference to people and their families. I love finding practical solutions, building strong relationships, and helping individuals regain confidence in their everyday lives. Whether it’s supporting someone to stay independent at home or working with families to navigate care decisions, I always aim to bring professionalism, positivity, and a human touch to every interaction.

At Sunday Care Therapy, I’m proud to lead a team that shares my values of kindness, dignity, and high-quality care. I’m also actively involved in improving care services within the wider community and enjoy working alongside local organisations to help raise standards across the sector.

Nimisha Do Rego
Movement is deeply personal. It reflects how we live, perform and experience the world.

I am Nimisha Do Rego, a dedicated physiotherapist at Sunday Care Therapy. My approach is a combination of clinical expertise and a deep commitment to patient-centred care. Having worked across diverse rehabilitation settings, I bring together clinical precision, hands-on therapy and intuitive understanding to every individual I work with.

I believe every interaction should be thoughtful, purposeful and tailored to the individual. I prioritise detailed assessment, strong clinical reasoning and personalised treatment strategies that align closely with each person’s lifestyle, environment and goals. Whether managing acute injuries or supporting complex, long-standing conditions, my focus is on delivering

outcomes that are not only effective, but sustainable.

Education and empowerment are central to my practice. I believe patients should feel confident, informed and actively involved in their recovery process. At Sunday Care Therapy, care extends beyond the traditional

clinic environment. Instead, we deliver rehabilitation within homes, communities and everyday settings, allowing therapy to be tailored more effectively to each individual’s daily routines, functional goals and lifestyle.

My approach blends manual therapy, movement rehabilitation and evidence-based practice with meticulous attention to detail. At its core, my work is focused on delivering thoughtful, evidence-based care that supports individuals to move with greater confidence, independence, and ease.

Tracey Frankson Job Title: Client Liaison Officer Joined: 2020
Tracey Frankson

My name is Tracey, and I have proudly worked with Sunday Care Therapy for the past five years. I began my journey as a carer, providing hands-on support to clients in their own homes and building strong relationships with both clients and their families. Working directly in care gave me valuable experience, compassion, and a deep understanding of the importance of person-centred support.

Over the years, I have progressed within the company and now hold the roles of HR Lead, Client Liaison, Wellbeing and Training Champion. In these positions, I support both staff and clients to ensure high standards of care, communication, and well-being are maintained across the service. I am passionate about supporting carers in their development, promoting a positive working environment, and helping clients feel safe, respected, and valued.

One of the most rewarding parts of my role is being able to make a positive difference to people’s lives every day, whether that is supporting a member of staff, reassuring a family member, or helping improve a client’s wellbeing. I take great pride in being part of Sunday Care Therapy and the compassionate service we provide.

9 times out of 10, if you're calling the office, you might be talking to me!

I enjoy working in a role that combines accuracy, organisation, and problem-solving, and I am proud to contribute to a company that values kindness, compassion, and genuine care. Carolyn Tucker Job Title: Occupational Therapist Clinical Lead Joined: 2021
Carolyn Tucker

I am Carolyn. I have worked as an OT for over 20 years, within health and social care, from neonatal to palliative. I strongly believe that there is always a solution; we just need to think beyond standard equipment catalogues and be inventive to meet a need. My time volunteering in a Ugandan clinic reminded me how to utilise household objects for therapeutic use and the power of crafts, especially within communities.

I have developed a commitment towards the moving and handling of a person; I believe it should flow seamlessly like a ballet dancer on the stage, moving from one platform to the next. This can only be achieved with the right equipment and the right balance between a person's involvement and a carer's support.

I have a keen passion for reconnecting people with enjoyment and fun, as so often life becomes about illness, disability and meeting basic care needs. With my clients, it has become about 16th-century art, shopping for chocolates, lunching with old friends and eating ice cream. I am committed to achieving their desires, not just talking about past hobbies.

I also have a love for supporting new practitioners to stand tall with a strong foundation and wings to fly into their autonomy.

Adanna Nwelue Job Title: Team Manager Joined: 2023
Adanna Nwelue

My name is Adanna Nwelue, and I am the Team Manager at Sunday Care Therapy. I progressed into this role from a care position, which has given me valuable hands-on experience alongside a deep understanding of the importance of compassionate, person-centred care.

At Sunday Care Therapy, we are dedicated to supporting adults and older people within the community, helping them maintain their independence, well-being, and confidence in their own homes. Being part of a team that delivers such meaningful support is something I care deeply about.

As Team Manager, I support and guide staff, oversee day-to-day operations, and ensure that every client receives high-quality care tailored to their individual needs. I take pride in being approachable, energetic, and supportive, and I am committed to fostering a positive environment where both clients and staff feel valued and respected.

Outside of work, I enjoy cooking, driving, and swimming. I value connecting with people, bringing positivity into everything I do, and making a meaningful difference in the lives of others through care and support.

Maria Gómez Job Title: Clinical Governance Lead Joined: 2026
Maria Gómez

Meet María N. Gómez Lacalle — AI Innovation Manager & Training Consultant | Clinical Governance, Sunday Care Therapy

María brings over 20 years of hands-on experience in health and social care — not from the sidelines, but from the frontline. She has worked alongside people, families, care teams, and local authorities, always driven by one question: how do we make care genuinely better?

That question is at the heart of everything she does at Sunday Care Therapy.

As AI Innovation Manager and Training Consultant, María leads the organisation's approach to technology and learning — ensuring that every tool, every training programme, and every system introduced is practical, safe, and built around the needs of care professionals and the people they support.

She is clear on one thing: AI is not here to replace the people who make care human. It is here to support them — reducing unnecessary paperwork, strengthening oversight, identifying risks earlier, and giving staff more time for what truly matters.

Through CareWise Innovation, María has built something that directly benefits the teams she works with — a smarter system combining AI-assisted care planning, targeted training, and proactive risk prevention. The idea is straightforward: when staff are better supported, better trained, and working with better tools, the people in their care do better too.

At Sunday Care Therapy, María develops and delivers training that builds real confidence, not just compliance. She creates learning experiences that meet staff where they are — accessible, relevant, and immediately applicable to everyday care practice.

Her vision for Sunday Care Therapy is simple: a team where every professional feels equipped, supported, and valued — and where innovation always serves people first.
