My mother has had the good fortune of being cared for by Lica for about 18 months. She receives 4 visits per day from a lovely group of staff who work rotating shifts. They are all really friendly and professional and will go out of their way to help. Each day comes with different challenges (some
not nice) but the carers deal with these challenges brilliantly (my mother feels bad about some of the things they need to deal with but the carers always say nice things to make her feel better). The carers have come up with ideas to improve my mum's wellbeing as she struggles through her age related illnesses. My mum always has a story to tell about the care she received that day (usually funny ones). Fantastic company, Fantastic people and they most certainly care. Thank you for all you do.

I am very happy with the level of care that Lica provide. All members of staff, from the top to the bottom, are very approachable and helpful. Everyone within Lica are involved with mums care and I have absolutely no worries with the level of care that she gets. All staff are also very polite and professional
and am delighted that they are looking after my mum.

We've been with Lica Homecare for about 2 years now and in all that time we have had no issues whatsoever. Their level of care far exceeds any care company we have had in the past from the management team to the staff in the office to the carers who visit our home. Every single one of them goes out
of their way to make sure Dad has everything he needs, nothing is a bother for them. They don't just dish out medication and 'ping' some food and runoff, they always have time to chat and have a bit of banter with Dad and he enjoys their company very much! In the time leading up to Mum's passing all the staff went above and beyond to make things as easy as they could for us and were there for the whole family! swapping things around, dropping in, contacting us etc. And we were very grateful for their support!
The people at Lica Homecare aren't just 'carers' they are people who care! That is why we are delighted to have them as part of our family!
(Before Mum passed they spent a lot of time chatting to Mum and she was very fond of them).

The staff and management have been fantastic and listened to all my mother's needs from day one. She has problems with her nerves and has trouble with people she doesn’t know. The management understood this and took the time to help my mum get to know the care staff who would be in on a daily basis,
and they made sure she’s had the same carers from the beginning. The management attends themself if any shifts need filling to keep the same core of staff to stop my mother from feeling uneasy. I can’t thank them enough for the support and care they give my mother, they’ve become more like part of the family with a fantastic work ethic and ease of routine. It’s great to feel relaxed and know when I’m working, my mother is in good hands. Highly recommend it.

Two personal visits per day, which are absolutely necessary, by interested carers. Friendly social interaction with attention to detail required by the individual. Very competent and consistent service. Telephone calls, in and outgoing, flawless. As required no names mentioned, but several members of
staff worthy of explicit praise. In a word, beneficial.

My name is Alyson Robertson and I am the Registered Manager for Lica Homecare. I have over 10 years of experience in the Care sector in various different roles.


I started my employment with Lica Homecare as a Team Leader I then achieved promotion to Deputy Manger and then to Registered Manager. I hold a BA (Hons) in Education and Social Services and I am currently working towards my SVQ4. It is my belief that care should be delivered that is person centred and honours the choices of the service user whilst valuing the staff team delivering that care. I joined Lica Homecare because they share this ethos.

I started Lica Homecare because I have over 20 years of experience in the Care Sector in various roles.
