We have become friends as well as him being my carer.

We had been trying to get someone who could help my husband to shower and dress in the morning but everyone I contacted had no spaces left around 8 am. A lot of them didn't cover our area, or they had no slots at the time we wanted, or they were very expensive. One morning I received a call from someone who wasn't on our list who said they had heard we needed help and they could possibly assist. A gentleman arranged to come and see my husband and assess his needs and he arrived when my husband was having a shower. They hit it off immediately and it was arranged that from the following morning someone would come to help. With the exception of three mornings, the same gentleman has come to help and he is exceptionally patient, gentle, humorous and professional. He has been faced with a few challenging situations involving my husband's toileting but he has coped uncomplainingly and was cheerful and pleasant throughout. We consider ourselves to be extremely fortunate.
