Cilla, Monika and her fantastic team, came to the rescue, Kudzie was mams main carer, she became family, mams daughter and an absolute rock to me, the care and love is out of this world, my mam lived her whole life never trusting people and always worried people would hurt her, the best and greatest decision ever made for mam was having ProAce to be part of our family, not only did they give mam amazing care but emotional support for us, when being devastated by the news mam was end of life care, the support and truly amazing care from ProAce made it possible for mam to go to sleep in her own home.. So thank you ProAce , especially Kudzie for making my mam have the best care ever in her final months and days..
The pictures of mam on the website say it all !!NOT ALL ANGELS WEAR WINGS XXX
All the carers are very caring with my son especially as he cannot talk or walk and is incontinent.

As an overseas daughter of an elderly father, I have not worried about my Dad's wellbeing since ProAce began supporting him.
Prior to their support he was underweight and in hospital from general poor health, about once a month.
Now he's gained weight, takes his tablets without fail, and has cheerful company twice a day.It took a few weeks for everyone to get used to the new routines, but a few months in and there's a nice rhythm and familiarity.
The team members are always reliable, friendly, respectful and helpful. They communicate well with him and one another, so there's continuity. My sense is that while it's a job, they do actually care.
My Dad's overall quality of life is definitely better with them. Without them he would have to go into a care home, which he really wants to avoid.
Thank you ProAce.

Monica’s passion for nursing was deeply shaped by caring for her father during his battle with prostate cancer. Through that experience, she discovered a calling to support people during some of the most vulnerable moments of their lives. It quickly became clear that she felt at home both on hospital wards and within the community, delivering compassionate, person-centred care.
Her career spans roles as a bank healthcare assistant, student nurse on ward placements, and Registered General Nurse (RGN). Throughout her practice, Monica has consistently embraced a holistic, whole-person approach to care.
Monica worked at the Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a urology staff nurse, specialising in the management of complex catheter referrals from the community. She also worked on the staff bank for the Cumbria, Northumberland, Tyne and Wear NHS Foundation Trust, gaining valuable experience in mental health services.
With 23 years of experience in health and social care, Monica brings a wealth of knowledge across a broad range of settings. She has worked with children aged 0–8 in care environments and as a registered childminder. Her experience also includes working alongside local authorities, supporting homeless individuals, young adults, young offenders in rehabilitation, and women refugees.
In addition, Monica has extensive experience in both residential care homes and domiciliary care services, equipping her with a well-rounded understanding of complex and community-based care needs.
She has achieved the following qualifications:- NVQ level 3 in childcare, early years and education
- BA Honours Social Care
- BSc Honours in Adult Nursing.

Meet the Registered Manager – Cilla KarumazondoHello, my name is Cilla, and I am the Registered Manager for ProAce Healthcare.
I am a Registered Adult Nurse with over 21 years of experience in health and social care, and I am registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council. My clinical background is in palliative and end-of-life care, and I hold a master’s degree in Practice Development from the University of Northumbria.
Before becoming a Registered Manager, I held senior roles within the NHS, including End of Life Care Facilitator at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust and Specialist Palliative Care Nurse with Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust. In these positions, I supported the development of end-of-life services and worked closely with patients and families during some of the most significant and emotional moments of their lives, ensuring care was compassionate, coordinated, and dignified.
My time working at St Oswald’s Hospice was particularly meaningful to me. It was there that I truly came to appreciate how powerful it is to make a difference in someone’s life — not only through clinical expertise, but through kindness, presence, and genuine human connection. That experience continues to shape the way I lead today, placing compassion and dignity at the heart of everything we do.
I am passionate about ensuring that people have the choice to remain in their own homes, surrounded by familiarity and comfort, while receiving high-quality, compassionate care. I believe that good care is not just about meeting needs — it is about preserving dignity, promoting independence, and building trusting relationships.
As a manager, I am supportive, approachable, and hands-on. I work closely with our carers to ensure they feel valued, confident, and well-trained. I strongly believe that when staff feel supported, they deliver the very best care.
My background as both a nurse and a teacher has shaped my leadership style — I prioritise learning, continuous improvement, and high standards. I am committed to ensuring our service is safe, person-centred, and delivered with kindness and respect always.
It is a privilege to lead a team that is dedicated to making a real difference in people’s lives every day.
