I have regular carers which I like as they have got to know me and what my needs are. Whenever my brother and sister-in-law (as they were) they help me with my insulin injections and settle me down for the night, which is normally done by my brother and sister-in-law. They also get my meals out of...
I have regular carers which I like as they have got to know me and what my needs are. Whenever my brother and sister-in-law (as they were) they help me with my insulin injections and settle me down for the night, which is normally done by my brother and sister-in-law. They also get my meals out of the fridge/freezer, which they don't usually need to do. The carers are always happy to pick things up from the floor which I cannot (even with my grabber). We often have interesting conversations which I enjoy.

I have come to rely on my carers a great deal both for physical care and company.
I have marked my overall care as good, whilst most of my carers are excellent it is a let down by a lack of attention to detail - changing sheets, emptying bins etc. Which means I would struggle if I didn't have family close at hand. It's nice to know that they are not only caring for me, but also my cat who they treat as part of the family.

My Husband had a recent and trip into hospital and on his return home needed more support and care that I could adequately provide. Initially we had 6 weeks of twice daily visits but it quickly transpired we only needed an evening visit for his personal hygiene. The carers were always on time, polite, well presented and very friendly towards their clients and members of the family. They responded to requests and gave suggestions as to how he could aid himself also, often things we hadn't though about. WE couldn't rate the "value for money" as this 6 weeks enablement was NHS funded so we have no idea how much it would have cost. but looking at the cost on the previous page it would be good value.

Last week my Mother's carer (Faith) called me to say she was unable to gain access to my Mother's flat. I was able to get her access but she called me back straightaway to report an emergency and to say she had called an ambulance. Her quick thinking and professional actions saved my Mother's life....
Last week my Mother's carer (Faith) called me to say she was unable to gain access to my Mother's flat. I was able to get her access but she called me back straightaway to report an emergency and to say she had called an ambulance. Her quick thinking and professional actions saved my Mother's life. I felt she went above and beyond by staying with my Mother well after her allotted time had run out. She stayed until the Paramedics had taken Mum to hospital. We as a family are eternally grateful to Faith. I am also grateful for the ongoing support provided by Golden Atara. I have been extremely pleased with their overall service provision and for the care they have provided to my Mother.

My dad was supported by this wonderful team for almost a year, beginning with four visits a day and later moving to 24-hour live-in care for the last few months. Throughout every stage, the care he received was exceptional. Each carer who came into his home treated him with genuine kindness, patience, and respect. They didn't just meet his needs-they brought warmth, comfort, and companionship into his daily life. Their reliability and professionalism gave us so much peace of mind. Communication was excellent, and the team were always responsive and proactive, especially as his circumstances changed. We always felt that Dad's wellbeing was their absolute priority. Now that he has moved into a care home, we want to express our heartfelt thanks for everything they did for him-and for us as a family. Their dedication and compassion made a very difficult time so much easier.
I would highly recommend their service to anyone looking for trustworthy, compassionate, and truly outstanding.

All the team at Golden Atara were most wonderful in their care for my dear father in the last few months of his life.
We felt fully supported by the carers and their management. They really went out of their way to accommodate my father's needs beyond all expectations. My mother is also disabled...
All the team at Golden Atara were most wonderful in their care for my dear father in the last few months of his life. We felt fully supported by the carers and their management. They really went out of their way to accommodate my father's needs beyond all expectations. My mother is also disabled and the team were also mindful of her needs and gave her support when necessary. There are inevitably sad and stressful times when a loved one is so unwell and a hug and kind words from our carers went a long way in comforting us as a family. The Golden Atara team was always punctual in their visits and carried out all duties effectually and with dignity.
We would like to say how thankful we are as a family for the wonderful care they gave my father and how their visits certainly enhanced those last few months of his life. We don’t know how we would have coped without them. A wonderful team and we will never forget them.

All carers were patient and as helpful as my mother would allow them to be, due to her Alzheimer's. It wasn't easy for them. They didn't give upon her and continued to try and find ways to encourage her to engage with them.

Martin’s journey into the care sector began in Halifax, West Yorkshire, where he spent eight years looking after both of his parents through long-term illness and cancer. This experience shaped his understanding of what families truly need: reliability, dignity, empathy, and unwavering support. After losing his parents, Martin founded Golden Atara Healthcare as a legacy of love, determined to build a service that delivers the standard of care he fought to provide at home.
Before entering care, Martin built a successful engineering career with global organisations including McLaren Automotive and Cummins, heading Engineering Quality departments and leading high-performance teams. He holds a BEng from the University of Huddersfield and an MSc from the University of Warwick. Despite a strong engineering trajectory, Martin made the life-changing decision to leave his career to care for his mum and dad, which permanently reshaped his sense of purpose.
Since establishing Golden Atara Healthcare in 2023, Martin has driven the organisation forward with a strong focus on quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
