Mum needed care after the passing of her husband and main carer, being diagnosed with Alzheimer's and Osteoarthritis we as a family needed help to care for her and especially wanted to keep her in her own home. Having no experience of using a care service it was an emotional process trying to secure
the right team for mum. Gentle Hands have been so helpful, every decision had mum at the centre. The carers turn up everyday on time, minimum disruption to schedule, always professional, caring, patient & friendly, their job is challenging & busy but always done with a smile and stay often longer than there allotted time, they truly deserve much praise. Gentle Hands are consistent with the same team visiting, building up a friendship with mum and gaining her trust. It has not been an easy transition for mum but a year on we are extremely happy with the care she receives.

The absolute worst care company I have ever had the misfortune to come across. The care was shoddy, having to repeatedly complain just to get a basic service. Most carers appeared to have little or no training whatsoever.
I finally had to them go due to unprofessional behaviour from carers and a failure
from the complaints team to resolve some serious issues.

Excellent service, mainly experienced care givers where nothing is too much trouble for them. They. are friendly, reassuring, punctual and thorough. I always feel that I am listened to. On occasions you build up a consistent rapport when it is the same carer who comes. My one downside would be it’s
not always the same carer. I have dogs and the carers are mostly fine with that and treat them with respect as they are very much part of my family. I am always asked at the end of my visit if there is anything else they can do for me. My doors are locked and the key put safely back.

Both myself and my mother are delighted with the care and attention shown to my father. He is treated with care and dignity. These are very hard times and they create a relaxed and 'fun' time whilst being very professional. Days can be long however with the multiple visits this gives us the extra help
we couldn't have him at home without.
Staff are always friendly and on time and go above and beyond what they're paid to do. If there are other family members or friends in the house whilst they are visiting this does not affect how they go about their work and it still stays a relaxed time.
We are very thankful and appreciate what they do very much, they now feel part of the family.

Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I have been a client of Gentle Hands since June 2023 and all in all I've been largely impressed. Management have been great, especially one staff member in particular, who has gone above and beyond time and time again - she is an asset to the company, she has made herself available at any time to discuss
any complaints, concerns or anything else. Care staff have been a tad hit and miss at times. Communication can be an issue, as language barriers cause problems - it can be frustrating for me, and I can communicate well. I can only imagine how difficult it is for those who have had strokes. However, there are many of the care staff who are a credit to the company. Hopefully the company employs more carers of these standards. Quality is far more important than quantity. It has made me feel uneasy recently to have so many new strangers come into my home. Continuity and a reliable routine is extremely important and a valuable factor to consider.

Really good service, management is good and staff are professional with good training. The staff cannot do enough to help and I find all of them very caring and friendly. The staff have a good backup if any problems arise. I am so glad I chose this company for my care.

Service has been a major help for Mum, and therefore for me. Timings can occasionally slip, but given the nature of the service this is understandable. Overall, everything runs very smoothly. I think Mum is very comfortable with the help she is being given.

The "care" is negligible, to non-existent. Sometimes they do not turn up, and when they do they have a terrible attitude. They refuse to make any meals that require any level of competence, breakfast of porridge will be too much for the care providers. No help going to the toilet, barge in the door
and start shouting. They attend for less than five minutes and then stand outside for a bus for half an hour. They have brought in strangers unannounced, unknown and male....to care for an elderly lady. They removed all paperwork from the home of the lady, they do not fill in any paperwork. The company do not have anyone to answer the phone. It is only a matter of time before this company's failings lead to an accident. Please ask the Council to provide you with a service that does not put your loved one in danger. All staff that have attended have only recently been allowed into the country to do care work, they have no qualifications and some really are not suited to this caring profession.

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.094 for Gentle Hands Healthcare Ltd is calculated as follows: ( (22 Excellents x 5) + (3 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (6 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 32 Ratings = 4.094
