Welcome to Classic Carers, your trusted partner in domiciliary care. As part of the Classic Care Home (Devon) family, Classic Carers carries forward a legacy of exceptional care services, consistently delivering a personalised, dignified, and compassionate approach to in-home care.

Born from the same ethos that has elevated their Summercourt and Pottlescourt care homes to their good and outstanding (July 2023 and May 2021 respectively) ratings from the Care Quality Commission (CQC), Classic Carers aims to replicate this excellence in the comfort of clients' own homes. The team strives to provide high-quality, individualised care tailored to the specific needs of each client.

The comprehensive range of services allows clients to enjoy an enhanced quality of life while maintaining their independence. The well-trained, professional caregivers offer help with daily tasks such as personal care, meal preparation, medication administration, and household chores. But they go beyond that, fostering deep, personal connections with clients, and providing companionship and emotional support, all the while respecting clients' personal space and dignity.

Just like its parent organisation, Classic Care Home (Devon), Classic Carers is dedicated to exceeding expectations. They pride themselves on their rigorous recruitment and training processes, ensuring that team members not only possess the necessary skills and qualifications, but also embody the company's values of compassion, respect, and integrity.

Classic Carers's mission goes beyond providing domiciliary care services. They are committed to empowering clients, helping them to lead fulfilling lives while ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being at home. Clients' peace of mind is at the forefront of everything they do.

Before we had even agreed to go with Classic Care, we were impressed with their professionalism, as well as their warmth and understanding. The lead carer made every effort to understand my mother as an individual and meet her needs accordingly, often going above and beyond and coming up with ideas
to keep her happy, as well as looked after physically. The lead carer ensured that all information was shared with the other members of the team who make up Mum’s care team. The carers are friendly, approachable, and flexible in their approach; we are very grateful to them.

After a fall I realised my mother needed immediate care at home. I contacted Classic Care which is based in my home village of Exminster. The coordinator set up a meeting with me that same evening and started the care herself that evening and has continued to provide twice-a-day, 3 times a day weekends
since. There is a consistency of carers so my mum knows who is coming and they are all extremely courteous caring and professional. It has given me enormous peace of mind. The coordinator is approachable and responsive. I thoroughly recommend them.

Current Review Score: 8.5 (8.500)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.5 (8.500) out of 10 for Classic Carers is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 2 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 5.000 for Classic Carers is calculated as follows: ( (12 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 12 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)

The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for Classic Carers is based on 2 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 = 3.5

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Job Title: Registered Care Manager for Classic Carers

I began my journey in the care industry in 2002 as a domiciliary care worker. Since then, I’ve worked my way up through various roles, including Senior Carer and Care Coordinator, before proudly becoming a Registered Care Manager in 2014. Along the way, I’ve achieved both my NVQ Level 3 and Level 5 qualifications in Health and Social Care, and continue to learn each day.

Throughout my career, I’ve had the pleasure of working with many incredible individuals—both colleagues and the people we support. Each experience has helped me to be the manager I am today, reinforcing my belief in compassionate, person-centred care that upholds dignity, respect, and individuality.

On a personal level, I’m married with two grown-up children. I enjoy walking in the sunshine and travelling abroad, with Cyprus being my favourite destination.

I am committed to continuing the growth of Classic Carers and ensuring we consistently maintain the highest standards of care for every customer we support. I’m passionate about leading a team that is dedicated, skilled, and focused on delivering outstanding care every single day.

I have been in the domiciliary care industry for over 10 years. At the beginning I started as a care worker with no qualifications. Now, I have a Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care and am currently working on Level 5, including being in a middle management role.

During these 10 years, I have worked with many professionals throughout the care industry, these experiences have helped me grow in the industry that I love.

Outside of work, I love my pet labrador and spoil both my nieces very much.

I started working for Classic Carers in December 2024. It is a fantastic place of work where all staff understand what good care and commitment to high standards of care are and have the drive to continue to develop and improve as we grow.
