Founded in 1988, Sesnha Care has provided high-quality, person-centred care across South and West Essex for over 30 years. The organisation currently supports more than 150 service users, with a dedicated team of over 76 care staff. Many team members have served for 15 years or more, and most live locally - offering continuity and a strong connection to the communities served.

Care services include support for the elderly, hospital discharge care, and specialist assistance for individuals with dementia, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions. Each care plan is designed to promote independence, dignity, and peace of mind for families and loved ones.

All care staff undertake a two-week induction programme, working towards their Care Certificate. Training includes classroom sessions, online research, practical skills development, and shadowing experienced professionals. This structured approach ensures staff are well-prepared and confident in delivering high-quality, responsive care.

Sesnha Care is fully regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and holds a GOOD rating (May 2023). Continuous improvement is maintained through regular feedback, up-to-date staff training, and a commitment to best practices in care delivery.

The Birdie digital care system enables real-time care monitoring, giving families visibility and reassurance.

Sesnha Care aligns with the Government’s mission to support individuals in maintaining independence for as long as possible - delivered in a way that respects dignity, choice, and individual rights.

Some of mum's carers were good, but not all. The management refused to engage with me even though I asked several times and mum had dementia. They refused to inform me when asking doctors to call.
Reply from Sue Benson, Office Manager at SESNHA Care

I'm sorry to hear that you've felt this way, especially after so many years of caring for your mum. Had you contacted us at the time, we may have been able to offer support. Unfortunately, we are required to have the service user's permission before we can share information or speak with family members, and we must respect their wishes in this regard.

My previous carer put thieves in my house and gave me little to no help. SESNHA carers have been tremendous, trustworthy, friendly, very cordial and respectful. I think the world of my main carer and the other carers. They deserve medals.
Reply from Sue Benson, Office Manager at SESNHA Care

We are so sorry to hear that you had such a difficult experience with your previous carer. It must have been incredibly stressful and hurtful. But it's wonderful to hear that SESNHA carers have been such a positive and supportive presence in your life. It sounds like they have made a real difference, and it's clear how much you appreciate them. Carers like your main one and the rest of the team truly deserve recognition for their hard work and kindness. It's heartwarming to know you've found such a dedicated and trustworthy team to help you. If there's anything more you'd like to share or if you want to talk about what they've done for you, we are here to listen.

My mother has received excellent care over a period of 7 years since suffering a major stroke. The girls have all been superb with Mum. Offering care and support over and above what was expected. Obviously, over this time we have had to change the care plan and this was all communicated and adhered
to. The app is excellent for checking Mum's well-being when away. In all this time only one (yes one) call was missed due to snow. Amazing. Thank you from all the family.
Reply from Sue Benson, Office Manager at SESNHA Care

It sounds like your mother has been very well cared for and it's clear that you deeply appreciate the dedication and professionalism of her care staff. It's wonderful to hear that the care plan adjustments and communication have been handled smoothly and the app has provided you with peace of mind. The fact that only one call was non-attended due to snow in seven years is impressive and speaks volumes about the commitment of the care team. Your gratitude is heartfelt and I'm sure it means a lot to everyone involved

I just want to give thanks to Sesnha Care for sending my dad an absolute angel of carers. This past year or so my dad has needed help with most things. She goes above and beyond to care for my dad, as stubborn as he is, to make sure he is clean, comfy and well-fed at all times. But most of all their
relationship is great, she makes him laugh, which personally I think is important. She is a kind, genuine person and I couldn't do it without her, let alone my dad and I trust her implicitly.

My mum has had SESNHA Care since 2022 and they have made such a difference to her life. We are not always able to get to my mum's daily but I never worry anymore because her carers will let me know if there are any problems. Carers are very helpful and friendly. I would recommend the company to anyone.

I feel very pleased and happy with the service provided by "SESNHA Care". The girls are very cheerful. They are very helpful and caring and attend to all my needs. A good laugh is a great tonic. They regularly contact my son with any questions or if there might be an issue with my health. I know all
the girls by name and feel we have a good relationship. I highly recommend SESNHA Care.

Current Review Score: 9.4 (9.425)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.4 (9.425) out of 10 for SESNHA Care is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Home Care Provider is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.525 for SESNHA Care is calculated as follows: ( (45 Excellents x 5) + (7 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (3 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 59 Ratings = 4.525
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

    The 5 points available are broken down as follows: 3 points for the first Positive Review, 2 points in total for each of the next 9 Positive Reviews (1st = 3, 2nd = 0.5, 3rd = 0.5, 4th = 0.25, 5th = 0.25, 6th = 0.1, 7th = 0.1, 8th = 0.1, 9th = 0.1, 10th = 0.1)

    The 5 points relating to the number of Positive Reviews for SESNHA Care is based on 9 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as follows: 3 + 0.5 + 0.5 + 0.25 + 0.25 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 4.9
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Home Care Provider does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
