Overall Experience

From the first phone call to enquire about Bluebird service I felt confident that they would be the best fit for my Mother! Kelly made me feel reassured that we could manage my Mother at home until we moved her up to be nearer family! Jade and the team were extremely kind thoughtful and insightful my mother enjoyed their visits and company. We as a family are very grateful and happy that we had such a caring team looking after our Mother as we were hundreds of miles away! We were able to check care plans daily which really gives you peace of mind and the visit roster to see when carers were coming to visit I thoroughly recommend Bluebird. Kelly and Jade the team are a credit to you!

Overall Experience

The Management and Carers at Bluebird Care Northampton have been excellent in providing care for my Mum since January 2025. There were a few hiccups in the first place but Kelly the Manager soon sorted them out. The carers Mum has had have all been so lovely and I have felt so confident with them dealing with Mums care etc. Unfortunately we have to move now to a Council funded package due to finances and I know Mum as well as myself are going to miss them all terribly. Special mention to Jade the Supervisor and Danni who have been so helpful. Keep up the good work Bluebird, you're all doing an amazing job. Thankyou so much.

Overall Experience

We have only used your services for a short while. Your ladies are all lovely and caring. My mother likes all of them which is extremely important. I know she can be stubborn at times but everyone seems to be able to get her to eat and drink, even if it's just a little.

Overall Experience
I have been receiving care now for three months. The carers I have are very professional, caring and friendly. It is more companionship-based care I have and I am building a good individual friendship with my carers.

The management team are professional and easy to approach.

Meet the Team (3)

Kelly Mennim Job Title: Registered Manager Joined: 2023
Kelly Mennim

Kelly joined Bluebird Care in November 2023 as Deputy Care Manager, predominantly looking after the Northampton territory. She grew up in Cumbria before settling in Northampton in 2000. Kelly attended Northampton College completing a BTEC in Health and Social care and later went on to complete her level 3 NVQ. Kelly was a Quality Assurance Manager and then Deputy Manager for another care provider for nine years, undertaking many different roles and establishing herself in the private care sector.

In November 2024, the Bluebird Care Northampton office received its own CQC registration, with Kelly as the Registered Manager. Kelly feels Bluebird is the perfect fit for her due to the shared ethos on person centred care and going the extra mile to make a difference to someone's life.

When not at work, Kelly is busy at home with her long-term partner, their two teenage daughters and two doggies!

Catherine Slater Job Title: Director Joined: 2019
Catherine Slater

Catherine grew up in Milton Keynes and lives in Newport Pagnell with her husband and three children. After graduating from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Modern History and Politics, Catherine worked in advertising sales for a London publishing house before travelling the world and then returning to university to study for a PGCE in secondary education. She joined Bluebird Care in 2019 after working as head of the History department in a local secondary school for 10 years.

Since joining Bluebird Care, Catherine has completed a Level 5 Leader in Adult Care Apprenticeship and is now a Director of Bluebird Care Milton Keynes and Bluebird Care Northampton & Daventry, responsible for the day-to-day running of the business.

David Howard Job Title: Director Joined: 2012
David Howard

After graduating from university many years ago with a degree in Law, David joined the Ministry of Defence where he performed many roles including spells in consultancy, policy advice, the press office and as the senior civil servant overseeing Schools for the children of British military schools overseas. In 2011, he led a team to reduce the size of the MOD civil service by 25% and as part of that work managed to devise his own exit, so that he could change career and initially open Bluebird Care in Milton Keynes, later expanding to open an office in Northampton. His interest in the care sector started several years earlier when his sister suffered a catastrophic accident which left her quadriplegic. David is married with two grown-up children, five grandchildren and a dog. Hailing from Wales, David enjoys all sports and has had a lifelong love affair with Liverpool Football Club, which has caused him enjoyment and heartache in equal measure.
