We turned to Penuel Care .Lena could not have been more helpful and answered all of our questions with compassion and patience.Lena was able to arrange a member of her staff to stay over really quickly and it gave us some respite as well as assurance that Mum was safe.
Excellent company to deal with and although Mum has turned a corner and we only needed help for a month we would have no hesitation in contacting Penuel care if we needed further help.
As matter of fact they would be my first port if call .

I have worked in Health and social care for over 20 years. Earlier in my career worked as a Support worker for an agency in England. The work included but assignments to NHS hospitals and to social care mostly in people’s homes. When I was doing my nursing training I worked for an agency as well as for the NHS bank.
I trained as a registered nurse in Learning disabilities and worked in England with people with learning disabilities in small group homes run by the NHS. This ranged from people with profound learning disabilities to people with autism and those with behaviours that challenged services. Even though this were NHS inpatients, the model of care was a social care model. We supported them with activities of daily living including shopping, cooking, cleaning, medication, personal care to name a few. I worked in this role for 3 and a half years before moving to Scotland as a team leader and then a Senior charge nurse for an inpatient service for people with learning disabilities. I managed a staff team of over 50 staff.
My duties included but were not limited to doing and approving staff rotas, staff supervision, recruitment mainly supervision, attendance management, working as in a multidisciplinary team to plan treatment and care for the inpatients and this included discharge planning. Sometimes we had to provide transitional support in the new homes and support the new care providers to become familiar with the care plans before slowing withdrawing. We also, provided liaison service to prevent admissions to hospital and help people remain in their own homes. These meant working closely with social workers, third sector provided, service users and their families and friends.
I currently work at NHS Forth Valley and in my current role I have worked mainly with older adults over 65 years old with debilitating and long term conditions including Stroke, dementia, falls, COPD, diabetes, etc
