I have over 20 years experience working across the care sector, building my career from the ground up and gaining a deep understanding of what truly makes high quality, person?centred care work in practice.
I began my journey as a Support Worker, working directly with individuals with a range of needs. This hands on role gave me a strong foundation in compassionate care, dignity, safeguarding, and the importance of seeing the person beyond the care plan. Being on the front line shaped my values and continues to influence how I lead and support others today.
As my career progressed, I moved into a Training Manager role, where I became responsible for developing staff skills, confidence, and competence. I delivered and oversaw training aligned to regulatory standards, supported new starters and experienced carers alike, and worked to embed a positive, learning focused culture. This role strengthened my ability to mentor others, improve retention, and raise standards across services.
I later progressed into the role of Registered Manager within a Home Care service, where I held full responsibility for the safe, effective, and compliant delivery of care. I led and developed care teams, oversaw compliance with the Care Inspectorate achieving strong inspection grades and ensured company standards were consistently met. Working closely with families, professionals, and external partners, I focused on delivering high-quality care that was both person-centred and commercially sustainable take real pride in leading by example, supporting staff wellbeing, and running services that people have confidence in and trust. An important part of this is building meaningful connections, where clients feel comfortable picking up the phone with any concern, even when it isn’t directly related to our service, and knowing our service users will be listened to and supported. I value being able to help people navigate challenges, signpost them appropriately, and reassure them when they need it most.
Across every role, I have remained committed to compassionate leadership, continuous improvement, and delivering care that genuinely makes a difference. My experience allows me to see challenges from every perspective from those receiving care, to frontline staff, to management and respond with empathy, clarity, and professionalism.
