I began my career in the care sector in 2015 as an Administrative Assistant with a well-known home care provider in Somerset. This role gave me a strong foundation in understanding the home care industry and the importance of delivering high-quality, person-centred care.

I later joined a privately owned home care service in Wiltshire, where I progressed through the organisation to become Registered Manager. In this role, I was responsible for overseeing more than 1,500 hours of visiting and live-in care each week across Somerset and Wiltshire. Leading a dedicated team, I was committed to ensuring every client received safe, compassionate, and reliable care tailored to their individual needs.

One of the most rewarding parts of my career was supporting both our clients and staff through the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. This experience strengthened my leadership skills and reinforced my passion for providing exceptional care, supporting care professionals, and making a positive difference in people's lives.

In 2022, I took on the role of Registered Manager for a large corporate home care provider. The service required a strong crisis management approach, and I focused on rebuilding a stable, dedicated team, improving care standards, and restoring a reliable, high-quality service for clients and their families.

My commitment to excellence was recognised in 2023 when I was awarded the Great British Care Awards – Home Care Registered Manager of the Year (South West). This achievement was a proud milestone in my career and reflected the dedication of the teams I have had the privilege to lead.

I have also gained valuable experience working with Wiltshire Council and within a residential care home. While these roles broadened my knowledge of the wider health and social care sector, they confirmed that home care is where my passion truly lies. Supporting people to remain safe, independent, and happy in the comfort of their own homes is what inspires me every day, and I was delighted to return to home care.

As Director, Registered Manager and Nominated Individual, I am committed to providing outstanding, person-centred care that families can trust. I aim to build a service where every client feels valued, every member of staff feels supported, and compassion, dignity, and excellence are at the heart of everything we do.

Hannah began her career in health and social care at the age of 16 and has spent more than 14 years supporting people with a wide range of care needs. Her passion for making a positive difference has led her to build experience across domiciliary care, residential care, nursing homes, specialist complex care services and the ambulance service, giving her a broad understanding of the different challenges people and their families can face.

Throughout her career, Hannah has supported individuals living with learning disabilities, mental health conditions, dementia, spinal injuries and complex neurological disorders. Her experience includes caring for people with tracheostomies, tetraplegia, catheter care, suctioning, cough assist therapy and end-of-life care. She has also cared for an individual living with Dentatorubral-pallidoluysian atrophy (DRPLA), an exceptionally rare inherited neurological condition estimated to affect just 1–9 people per million. Experiences such as these have strengthened her ability to adapt, remain calm under pressure and deliver truly individualised care.

As her career progressed, Hannah naturally moved into leadership roles, developing from Care Assistant to Senior Carer, Supervisor and now Deputy Manager. She is passionate about supporting care professionals to grow in confidence, recognising potential in others and creating teams that deliver the highest standards of compassionate, person-centred care.

Hannah believes that outstanding care begins with listening. She understands that no two people are the same and that exceptional care is found in the smallest details, taking the time to understand routines, preferences and what matters most to each individual. She aims to ensure every person receives the same dignity, kindness and respect that she would want for her own family.

Ulanda began her career in domiciliary care at just 16 years old during the COVID-19 pandemic, driven by a desire to make a meaningful difference in an incredibly challenging time. Although new to the sector, she quickly demonstrated compassion, maturity, and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care. Working alongside experienced colleagues in double-up visits, she supported individuals with palliative and complex care needs, gaining invaluable hands-on experience from the very beginning of her career.

Through these experiences, Ulanda developed a deep appreciation for the impact of person-centred care. She particularly enjoys helping individuals establish positive routines that promote independence, dignity, and wellbeing, empowering them to live as independently as possible in their own homes.

Committed to her professional development, Ulanda achieved both her Level 2 and Level 3 qualifications in Health and Social Care before progressing into a training role. She is passionate about sharing her knowledge and supporting care teams to develop the skills and confidence needed to deliver exceptional standards of care. To further strengthen her ability to educate others, she also gained a teaching qualification, enabling her to deliver engaging and effective training within her specialist field of Health and Social Care.

As a supervisor and trainer, Ulanda leads by example, encouraging continuous learning, professionalism, and compassionate care. She is always ready to embrace a new challenge, brings enthusiasm to everything she does, and is well known among colleagues for making an awesome sandwich! She is also a trained Blacksmith.
