Mutima Care

Mutima Care is a home care provider supporting adults across Haringey, Islington, Barnet and Waltham Forest. Its person-centred approach is built around each individual’s routines, preferences, needs and desired outcomes, helping people stay safe, comfortable and as independent as possible in their own homes.

Support is available for adults aged 18 and over, including older people and those living with dementia, mental health needs, physical disabilities or sensory impairments. Care can include personal care, mobility and continence support, meals and hydration, medication assistance, companionship and practical help with everyday activities.

Care is arranged following a thorough assessment, with consent, risk assessments and an agreed care plan guiding delivery. Mutima Care recognises that effective support should fit the individual rather than expect the person to adapt to a standard routine. Dignity, privacy, choice, communication and familiarity are central to helping care feel respectful and reassuring.

The service takes a values-led approach to recruitment, looking for qualities such as patience, reliability, respect, good observation and a willingness to learn. Safer recruitment checks, including identity, Right to Work, DBS, references and employment history, are completed before care workers are deployed.

Care workers receive induction, relevant training and competency assessments before working independently where required. Ongoing supervision, spot checks, feedback and refresher learning support consistent standards. Care is monitored closely, with concerns or changes recorded and escalated so that support can be reviewed and adapted when circumstances change. Read less
