They feel training is crucial to the role, if you do not feel confident within your job role how do they expect their clients to feel safe and confident?
They pride themselves on a well trained team and have excellent training facilities on offer, in fact a whole floor of their office is a training suite which includes all up to date training equipment you will need to fulfill your role.
As well as in-house training on various topics such as Moving & Handling, Dementia Care, In-House Policies & Procedures, & Enrollment onto the Care Certificate further training is provided. Heydays Care work closely with their local hospice "St Marys" in Ulverston, they train with the hospice for palliative care and the courses you will attend are Advanced Care Planning, & Training in "End Of Life Care" to ensure they can deliver the best End of Life Care.
Before a new team member is given their own rota you will have spent 2 weeks shadowing a senior member of the team on the specific round in which you were recruited for as well as receiving in-house training.
Heydays Care specialises in continuity of care so when they recruit they recruit for specific rounds to ensure a trusting relationship can be built between both clients and support workers, this is especially important for those clients with Dementia.
