Job summary
As a Community Care Worker, you will play a vital role in providing compassionate support to individuals in need within the community. Your responsibilities will include assisting clients with daily living activities, promoting their independence, and ensuring their overall well-being. This position requires a proactive approach to care and the ability to build meaningful relationships with clients and their families.
You need to be available during the week as well as for work every other weekend ( alternative weekend ) from 7am to 930Pm.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, dressing, and meal preparation.
- Monitor and report on clients' health and well-being, ensuring any changes are communicated effectively to the appropriate professionals.
- Assist clients with mobility and transportation needs, facilitating their participation in community activities.
- Develop and implement care plans tailored to individual client needs, while promoting independence and dignity.
- Supervise and mentor junior staff or volunteers, fostering a supportive environment for learning and development.
- Maintain accurate records of client interactions and care provided, adhering to confidentiality protocols.
- Engage with families and caregivers to provide updates on client progress and address any concerns.
Experience
- Previous experience in a caregiving or community support role is highly desirable.
- Supervising experience is beneficial for those looking to take on leadership responsibilities within the team.
- Mentoring skills are advantageous for supporting new staff members or trainees in their development.
- A compassionate nature with excellent communication skills is essential for building rapport with clients and their families.
