Local Community Care Assistant – Full Time – Letchworth

Job summary

Are you kind, reliable and based in or near Letchworth (SG6)?
We are a small, local home care provider supporting adults to live independently in their own homes, and we are looking for local drivers to join our care team on a full-time basis.

Important: This role is only open to applicants who already have the legal right to work in the UK. We are unable to offer visa sponsorship, now or in the future.

What you’ll be doing

• Visiting people in their own homes in and around Letchworth (SG6) and surrounding areas (Hitchin, Letchworth, Stevenage).
• Supporting with personal care (washing, dressing, toileting)
• Assisting with meals, drinks and medication prompts
• Providing companionship and reassurance
• Recording visit notes using our care app
• Reporting any concerns to the office team

You will usually support the same clients regularly, allowing you to build strong, trusting relationships.

• Paid mileage between calls
• Paid induction and shadowing
• Full training provided (experience welcome but not essential)

• Regular, contracted hours following a successful probation period

Shifts & availability

• Early shifts from around 07:00
• Late shifts finishing around 22:00
• Alternate weekend working
• A regular working pattern will be agreed at interview

Who we’re looking for

• You already have the right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
• You hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a reliable car
• You live locally to Letchworth (SG6) and can travel between visits
• You are caring, dependable and committed to supporting others
