Responsibilities
- - Assist clients with personal care tasks such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
- - Support with mobility and transfers to promote safety and independence
- - Help with household chores including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- - Administer medication as prescribed and maintain accurate records
- - Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
- - Follow care plans diligently to meet individual needs and preferences
- - Maintain clear communication with clients, family members, and healthcare professionals
- - Assist with errands such as shopping or attending appointments using own transport if required
- - Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines
Skills
- - Valid driving licence and ability to drive clients if necessary
- - Experience working in a care home or home care setting is desirable
- - Knowledge of care plans and ability to implement personalised support strategies
- - Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- - Proficient IT skills for maintaining records and completing documentation accurately
- - Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients
- - Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to help others
- - Good organisational skills to manage multiple clients' needs effectively
Role
- This role will initially be a zero-hours contract but will have the option to change to fixed hours/perm role as the business starts to grow.
- The role will require travelling between clients. Therefore, carers will need access to their own transport — typically their own car — to move between visits.
