Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team in delivering exceptional, person-centred care within the community. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine passion for supporting older people to live independently in their own homes.

A valid driving licence and access to your own vehicle are essential for this role.

Duties

  • Deliver high-quality personal care to residents, supporting their daily routines with dignity and respect
  • Supervise and mentor junior care staff, fostering a positive team environment and ensuring adherence to care standards
  • Develop, review, and implement personalised care plans in collaboration with residents, families, and healthcare professionals
  • Monitor residents’ health and wellbeing, recognising any changes or concerns promptly
  • Assist with medication administration in accordance with prescribed instructions
  • Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and resident progress using IT systems
  • Facilitate effective communication between residents, families, and the wider healthcare team
  • Support residents with mobility, nutrition, hygiene, and social activities to promote independence and wellbeing
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in senior or specialised care within a care home environment
  • Supervising or leadership experience in a healthcare setting is highly desirable
  • Strong communication skills to effectively liaise with residents, families, and team members
  • Good IT literacy for maintaining accurate records and updating care plans electronically
  • Driving licence is advantageous for transportation purposes
  • Knowledge of current care standards, safeguarding procedures, and relevant legislation in senior care
  • Compassionate attitude with the ability to motivate and lead a team effectively
