Job summary

Job Purpose

We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Field Care Supervisor to support the delivery of high-quality domiciliary care services across Wantage and Oxford. This role involves working closely with care staff in the community, ensuring safe, effective care delivery, and responding quickly to changing client needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide rapid response cover for care visits, including stepping in at short notice where required
  • Support the on-call rota, responding to emergencies and operational issues
  • Conduct regular spot checks and field observations to ensure high standards of care
  • Carry out client assessments and care reviews, ensuring care plans remain accurate and person-centred
  • Assist with starting new care packages, often at short notice
  • Deliver and support training and inductions for new and existing care staff
  • Provide hands-on support and mentoring to carers in the field
  • Ensure compliance with CQC standards, policies, and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation and records

Team & Leadership Support

  • Work collaboratively with the management team to support service delivery
  • Be a reliable and supportive presence for both carers and leadership
  • Contribute to problem-solving and continuous service improvement
  • Promote a positive, professional, and supportive working culture

Working Pattern

  • Full-time hours
  • Every other weekend required
  • Participation in the on-call rota

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a senior care or supervisory role within domiciliary care
  • Strong understanding of care standards and compliance (CQC)
  • Ability to work flexibly and respond to urgent situations
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care
  • Experience delivering or supporting staff training
  • Knowledge of electronic care systems
